Bought this as a Christmas gift for our adult son. They're perfect to wear to see clients - stylish, yet keeps his feet warm and dry from the car to the work site. He said they were a bit stiff at first but he wore them around the house and they broke in quickly.

These winter shoes are the best by far of any attractive footwear for the cold, wet and icy surfaces common in western New York State. They keep my feet warm and dry and the grip is the best I have seen short of using crampons. But, after 3-4 months of use one of the laces lost the 1/2" plastic tip on the ned, and the end6-10 inches of the lace simply disintegrated. What was left was totally shredded into 10 inches of stringy fluff. Be wary and have an extra pair of laces on hand

Somewhere between pleased and astonished at how well these shoes work. As advertised, they provide excellent traction on snow, plus keep your feet dry and warm. My walks are a winter free-for-all mix of slush, glare ice, snow, and if I am lucky, some dry pavement, yet these shoes transition through all terrains wonderfully. I was able to do a head to head comparison with my (now former) favorite winter shoes, and the most startling contrast is the traction. With those other shoes I slip and slide significantly more than with these LL Bean shoes. Glad I bought two pair!

I bought these about 6 months ago. They fit my foot very well. When I walk my dog in light snow, (1"-2') my feet stay warm and dry. They have a stiff sole, so there is good support and the sole provides good traction. I highly recommend.

I bought these shoes because I was looking for shoe/boots that didn't slide or slip on ice. These don't slip or slide! They are comfortable and do what they are supposed to do!

I wanted a lowcut waterproof shoe for eveyday wear during the winter. This fits the bill perfectly. It is warm and very comfortable; lightweight, yet rugged; waterproof; and has the arctic grip to help with traction in snow. I purchased my regular shoe size and wear them with medium weight socks throughout the day, indoors without becoming too hot. I can highly recommend this style for those who work indoors, yet want something substantial in bad weather. (Note: if you want to wear thick wool socks, you will need a half size to a size larger than your normal shoe.)

These Men's Snow Sneakers with Arctic Grip are the best footwear for snow and ice I have ever had (would need boots for deeper snow, though). They are a perfect fit, insulated and waterproof. The best feature is the good drip on packed snow, on ice, and on any combination of the two. Their grip is the best I have ever experienced with any winter time footwear. In conditions when I have had to put on crampons over boots, now I do not need to.

In Northern Minnesota we often get snow on top of ice surfaces. This makes for tricky walking and quick slips as I have experienced in the past. I have previously used Yak-Tracs and other gripping devices strapped onto my shoes. I have now used these boots continuously for almost three weeks and find them to be certainly equal to anything that I have previously strapped onto my shoes. I would recommend these to anyone.

I was worried that they would be too wide for me because I have narrow feet. However, the Medium width with a half size shorter than normal length fit just right.

They run a little small and narrow. Get a Half size larger than normal. Great shoe!

I bought these shoes from a recommendation by an LLBean phone rep because I wanted a pair of shoes to keep my feet dry while walking. We decided the 10.5 inch Men's shoe to be the best size given my last sneaker purchase. I wore them this past weekend on a daytrip in NYC (1/7/23). It was a day of rain and snow showers. The shoes were comfortable (this was my second time wearing them) and my feet were dry. Because I must wear compression stockings, I had no issues with the shoe fit. I was very pleased that the size "guess" worked out great and the shoes didn't allow me to slide on slippery surfaces like the train flooring. My only complaint is that the laces, which appear to be woven, are snagging on the last eyelet and I foresee this becoming an issue the longer I wear the show and tighten the laces. I didn't need to adjust the laces already in the shoe, just the ones needing to be tied. Perhaps the shoe designers could find a better lace that won't shred OR an eyelet that doesn't scrape the lace to shred it.

I had been looking for a low-cut shoe that could be used for walking on snow and ice during sub-freezing days. The L.L. Bean Men's Low Lace- Up Snow Sneakers with Arctic Grip fits the bill. It is comfortable with 1 irritant (discussed below), looks good, is not "bulky" like some other insulated shoes/boots, and appears to be very well constructed. I used them this week walking on icy sidewalks and streets, and they really did improve my traction. But as the product description stresses, these do NOT replace traction devices (e.g., "traks"). You still need to be careful on ice, but I had a comfortable 1.5-mile walk with improved traction and warm feet.
I would have given these shoes 5 stars but 2 factors prevented that. The most important factor is that the shoe, right out of the box, irritated the bottom of my ankle bone, even though I was wearing medium-weight wool socks. Several other reviewers had the same experience, but I decided to make some temporary adjustments to see if I could alleviate the problem rather than sending the shoes back. I cut off the rear portions of a pair of inexpensive innersoles and placed them beneath the rear portions of the shoe's innersoles. I then added pieces of the front portions of the inexpensive innersoles in the heel areas under the innersole of each shoe. This solved the problem for me -- no more irritation. Initially I tried to use the whole inexpensive pair of innersoles, but that cramped my toes. The other negative factor is the price. I bought mine during a 25% discount sale and I used a $10 gift certificate, so I paid a bit less than $100. I think that that should be the regular price, especially since a number of customers had the ankle-bone problem that I had.

I have to join the many others to say that the shoe is too narrow. Works well in the cold/ice just too bad it isn't as comfortable is it could be given its width.

These low lace-up snow sneakers are perfect for bad weather conditions. The artic grip seems to help quite a bit but don't be fooled into thinking you can just walk on ice with no fears. You still need to be cautious. They do help a lot but you can still slip.
I have used these quite a bit since I've purchased them and I do like them quite a bit. They offer a lot of warmth over your every day sneakers/shoes and out in the snow I haven't had any moisture issues at all.

I bought these and wore them for the first time on my daily 5 mile walk. I had read that some people found the shoe chafed their ankle but when I tried them on I did not think that my ankle bone would come in contact with the shoe. To my surprise after about 4 miles I found that the inside ankle bone on one foot was chafing. I am going to try shoe inserts to see if that raises my foot enough to clear the shoe. I really want these to work for me as I have been seeking this kind of sole for winter walking for years.

Got them for my husband because we walk our dogs on trails. However, they were too small. Also, very heavy. I think calling these snow sneakers is not accurate. They are definitely not sneaker like. Being returned.

I wore these shoes on my walk after our first snow fall, after walking two miles the skin on my right ankle was rubbed raw. I compared the ankle clearance to my other shoes and this shoe does not provide the same clearance. Other than the clearance allowed for your ankles this is a great shoe. I hate to give up the slip resistance but unfortunately I will be returning mine.
