Let me preface this review by saying that I wear these with custom orthotics. That said, they are soooooo comfortable!! I was looking for a pair of Chelsea boots to wear in London over Christmas, knowing that I would be doing a lot of walking, it would probably be rainy, and I would want a medium weight sock for warmth and cushion. These were perfect! I got compliments on the style, they looked great with cuffed jeans, and with some dressier travel pants as well. I wore them on sidewalks and in hikes through grass and gravel, and they performed beautifully. One thing I will say is that I couldn’t find confirmation that these are waterproof, so I did my own waterproofing, and had no issues in the London drizzle.

I have owned many pairs of Keen over the years - sandals, shoes, boots, and sneakers, and I've learned that not all Keen are created equal. These were disappointing. First of all, there is very little arch in these. I have a somewhat high instep and have come to appreciate the arch support offered by most Keen styles. I say most because I have found there are some that don't offer the arch support Keen is known for, and these are one of them. Also, they are narrower than other Keen I own, and in my size, a nine, they look long and skinny. It's too bad because I really liked the looks of them in the photos and I had high hopes for them.

So, after receiving a woman's shoe, size nine, instead of the man's size nine that we ordered, Zappo's was quick to remedy the problem and sent out a replacement immediately. However, once again we received size nine women's shoe. Don't know how long it will take to get the right shoes. Sorta weird.

Keen rocked it again. I added OTC "plantar fascitis" inserts, which cup the heel and add support under the arch, without taking up precious toe room. If a person has lower arches, this would not be necessary. But it's all i need to make the boots fit perfectly.

The arch support and heel cushioning are fantastic. The boot runs a bit narrow, which may not be expected for Keens. I used a shoe stretcher and they are quite comfortable. Wore them all winter. Truly waterproof.

Great boots, but just a little too big for me. Otherwise I would keep them.
