I normally wear a 13 m, but safety toes take up too much space, so I've been trying a size up. I got size 14 2E of the 4" brown ones - not the under-ankle black or brown ones. The length is accurate but I'm glad I ordered 2E because that gave me enough width both in the toebox and the rest of my foot; I'm sure a 14m would've been too narrow. It seems like a lot of brands skimp on the toebox space, as well as width, and that can cause pain and even permanent damage to your feet. The style is subtly attractive. If they hadn't branded in the shapes on the side, these would be pretty plain looking. The laces are too short, but I'm confident that they won't untie. After adjusting the tightness and before tying, there's only about 7" on each side. I'm finding it hard to tie the ankle loosely enough so that it doesn't restrict my blood circulation. The ankle shaft is a bit too narrow but sliding the tongues toward the outside relieves most of the pressure as long as you don't over-tighten. I do have to loosen the laces to don and doff them. The lower 2/3 of the tongue has extra leather reinforcement, which I imagine will be nice if something falls on it. The insoles are amongst the most comfortable, and I find the shoes more comfortable for standing than sitting for some reason. These boots are more comfortable than the others I've tried, and only the Timberland Pro Reaxion shoes had a comparable level of comfort without bothering my ankles painfully. Although it doesn't get specific, and uses a lot of terminology that makes no sense to me, it's rated for slip resistance (no specs given), including oil, and electrical hazard resistance. It doesn't mention on the box that it's waterproof. I'm pretty sure that it is mis-categorized because this is the CA1908 (boots), not the CA1905 (shoes), so some of the info listed for it is quite possibly wrong on Zappos. Hopefully, these are the magic boots I've been trying to find. Most brands seem to be too narrow, have a toebox that is too narrow, and don't really seriously take into consideration all aspects of comfort, but especially not long hours of standing and walking.

Usually a size 8 men’s fits comfortably but this time it felt like I tried to squeeze into a size 7. The sneakers are really heavy and feel more like steel toed boots. Which is great for safety shoes but just keep in mind the weight will tire your legs out at some point. I returned due to the size not fitting but I won’t reorder the same pair due to the weight, I’ll try another and hope for the best. Thanks goodness Zappos has quick return shipping and options

Perfect fit ??

I wear an 11D pennyloafer but bought these in 12EE for work (I work night shifts at Amazon fulfillment) and these feel great! Take my advice and go up in size and width. Not high on style but they're for warehouse work.

I ordered a 1/2 size larger and the fit is very comfortable, the material is lightweight IMO for a work shoe which I like. Breathable, and seem of good quality. No regrets a week in wearing them. I am on a concrete floor 12 hours a day, have walked in the rain without wet feet, the outer surface dries out quickly. No problem with the safety toe. Delivery was fast. I really like them and am thinking about a second pair.

First bought a 9.5 men's as this is the normal size I wear in mens. Had to go up a size to 10 mens. Other than that great fit.

I'm on my feet for 11 hours up to 12 miles a day. Extra wide helps keep my feet comfortable.

This is one of most comfortable steel toes work I ever worn. Most of I have to worn a couple of weeks or a month to get comfortable. Day one it felt good. I love it. Only complain is about my left side of shoes seems bigger. Anyway I have to buy insoles to be perfect fit. Overall I am very happy with my new shoes.

What I like best about buying this pair is how insoles were included. Gives more comfort to my feet. Felt heavy at first, which is a downside, but after a while these shoes start to feel comfortable when working in warehouses.

This is an addendum to my review. 1) The middle one - the 4" boot - is NOT the CA1905. It is the CA1908. It even shows that in the photo (look at the left tongue's label). https://www.carolinashoe.com/CA1908 2) The description given for all three - the model CA1905 - is not correct for any of them. See the above link and https://www.carolinashoe.com/CA1905 for the correct description. The outsole is a hard rubber with shallow treads that do not seem good for dispersing large amounts of liquid to prevent slippage - but I'm not an expert on that. If you'll be working outside, the CA1905 and CA1908 are NOT listed as waterproof or water-resistant, although they do state reduced temperature transfer.

The shoes and Zappo customer service is great ! But being forced to wear them well not so great !

I am new to the Carolina brand. They look great and felt comfortable when I wore them all day at home. I have not worn them for a full 10 hour work shift on concrete floors yet. I almost chose to get the same shoes as my last work shoe purchase, Timberland Pro Reaxion, as I was very happy with their performance over the last 13 months. The size 10.5-D Carolinas have a smaller footprint and are narrower than the size 10.0-D Timberlands, so I hope that does not affect the end-of-the-day comfort I enjoyed with the Timberlands. The Carolinas are lighter in weight, so that may be a plus.

Fits right. Usually can't get proper wide sized shoes that fit but these are great, light weight for a work shoe as well; have even been wearing them as my everyday shoes now and threw out all my Nike shoes now that I found a proper fitting shoe.

The fit is tight on my feet, they feel like walking on rocks. I hope they break in.
