I love the concept of these gloves... the execution is a little off. 1- sizing if you order s/m it is going to be a medium on you. 2- the palm pads are very oddly placed and big. I have a small hand and they sit in a strange location on my hand. 3- the mitten part that folders over the fingers does not do much. It does slow the wind or cold air, but it does not stop it.

I bought these last year. As others have reported, the mitten is only single lined so your fingers will be cold even with the mitten flap closed. Best to wear a liner with these (having a liner also makes them fit better for me as I'll typically wear a small and these are s/m so made for medium hands). I love the idea of the flip open mitten to free up my fingers to use with my camera or phone, but: 1) you can't keep the mitten flap open. The button and loop are so small, unless your fingers are infant sized you'll never be able to secure the mitten over the button. A magnet or Velcro would have made it much more useable. 2) a thumb flap would make it even more useful. In the end, I haven't used them too much because of those downsides. As it stands, I wouldn't recommend these nor would I purchase them again.

I got these for dog walking. My hand was warm but my fingers froze. The mitten flap is only a single layer so does nothing against the cold. The body of the glove is two layers - the outside layer with the palm pad twists and the pad ends up moving up and to the side, making it feel like it's trying to work its way off of my hand. If the two layers were better connected, it might stay put better. I tried really hard to like them, but they just won't work for what I need. I'm disappointed that they didn't work out.

I bought the same gloves a few years back. They've been great. I wanted to get a new pair for myself and a pair for my mother. They are definitely not the same quality they once were. They are fraying at the ends right out of the package. There are loose strings hanging off each finger. I am sending them back.

Very comfortable. Not super warm on the fingers but they are soft and maneuverable.

The mitten should be doubled layered just like the glove is made

Absolutely loved a pair of these from a few years ago but they've changed manufacturers and the latest ones are pool. The yarn colors have more contrast and the pinkie is cut really long so it oddly hides the whole finger. Too bad as the last pair have fallen apart.

They sure look cool and are warm, but they're already starting to fray!

Not very warm. The button loop is too small. Need a warmer mitten lining. Expensive.

This is the fourth or fifth pair of these I have bought over the years. My old pair has been worn to tatters. This new pair is much smaller, isn't stretchy at all, and feels like it's cutting off blood to my fingers. Did private equity buy Smartwool? These used to be the best glove/mitten you could get. Really disappointed.
