Love these booties for my 9 year old daughter. I honestly almost sent them back initially b/c I was looking for a waterproof/ Chelsea style boot for her, like some I own, love and wear daily for everything, and these are not fully waterproof. However, we kept them and she has been wearing them constantly for over a year for just about everything....they are her go to daily school wear, rainy/yucky days, gardening/yard work, playing in backyard, great around campsite, mountain biking, etc.. Super practical, easy to put on/take off, scrub down to look new again and clean with removable foot insert, can wear on rainy days b/c they are a bit water resistant but just not going to wear when we are out adventuring in the woods and need fully waterproof gear, very comfortable and flexible and they look adorable and "make" a lot of outfits - jeans to skirts to dresses. The only con really besides not being fully waterproof, is they do tend to run a bit hot & her feet sweat when its hot (think neoprene scuba material), and so they are best for shoulder seasons or brief periods when needed in summer. (We live in the New England area.) Wish they made them for adults. Really crazy though, I can squeeze my size 9 foot into a kids 6. Which is absurd and I agree pushing it a bit, but I bought her the next couple of sizes b/c I wasn't sure which size to get next and they were huge on her so I tried them on. I am seriously considering keeping them b/c they are that great and comfy (they flex b/c of neoprene material). Bogs does make a similar boot for women, but they are waterproof. A feature I love, but now that we have these I really like these too b/c they are very comfortable and have a snugger fit allowing me to maneuver better...so I can run around in them more. (Not sure when that would apply...maybe when I am walking alone on a trail in the woods, and need to run for my life if I get chased by a dog/wild animal/creep.)

Ordered size 3 for my 13 year old. He is wearing a 3 in Nike running shoes right now. The fit is a tad roomier, but he will need to wear thicker longer socks because the top edge of the shoe, at least for now, is chafing. We have also had this happen with the neoprene lined boots which we also wear during low-tide walks with shorts. That was a bad idea. There were welts where the top of the boots were in direct contact with the skin for the next 36 hours. That was a lesson learned. We still purchase and love Bogs.

Originally I ordered this for my son to try on (he currently wears a 3 Nike running sneaker) I purchased both a 3 and 4. I decided to keep this one for myself. I haven't worn them out yet, but the soles look nice and thick so they look like they will keep my feet protected from temperature changes. Although I did minus one star because the inside isn't lined at all. I have another pair of Bog rain boots which are felt lined and I wear them bare foot for short walks in 30 degree weather and my feet are still nice and warm. But they have a soft, flexible top, unlike the Kicker Chelsea (as well as the neoprene lined boots) which I find chafes my skin unless there is something in between (socks, pants, etc). I still love it and I'm keeping them. Bogs makes great wet weather boots that also keep your feet warm and Zappos has a great selection. I wear a women's 5.5 Nike running sneaker - sneakers that run larger like Adidas and Reebok, I need to wear children's size 4. My feet are bony so they are slimmer but I wouldn't call them narrow.

The seams on the interior are bulky like rocks inside the shoe making them very uncomfortable. Disappointing.
