I decided to wear the low Oakcreek Merrill's instead of the high waterproof Merrill's to hike the 6.5 mile trip to "The Wave" at Coyote Butte. They were better for my ankles when climbing steep rocks but in the rain and snow they weren't waterproof.

These are sturdy shoes and I really like the look of them. The problem was that the heel was too loose. The shoes had a nice wide toe box, which is usually the issue for my feet. My toes were very comfortable. I wonder if they had a heel lock they would have fit better. Unfortunately I had to send them back.

Comfortable shoes but they feel big, even with thick hiking socks. I wish they were water resistant but they aren’t at all - a walk through dewy grass in the morning made them completely wet and my socks too.

Really nice shoe! Great sole and support but way to wide. I have a wide toe and narrow heel. This shoe is like a really wide oval, size 9.5. I reordered it in a 9 and that should arrive today.

It is a little too tight in the toes to be comfortable

As much as I wanted to like these, I'm not a fan of shoes that sit too close to the side ankle bone. It might be because I have small feet (size 5). The Moab 3 are much more comfortable than these.

I was looking for a replacement for my beloved Merrell MXM flex or my also beloved Grassbow air light-duty hikers. These are definitely NOT it! My feet felt hot and unbreathing when I just sat wearing them. Does anyone know if any Merrells are similar to either of those????

This shoe was smaller than the other color even though they were marked the same size.

It isn't a true 9.5, little too tight. Tied some Merrell Oakcreek 9.5 on at a shoe store that felt just right. Don't why the difference between the 2.

Seems to be much smaller than marked as I usually wear the same size with other merrells. Doesn't seem that well constructed either compared to 3/4 style hiking shoes.
