I've only been wearing these around the house to break them in so unfortunately I can't speak to hiking (traction) or being waterproof. I CAN tell you these are extremely comfortable & my feet started getting warm while wearing, so I would bet they'll keep my feet dry. True to size, top goes slightly above my ankle so they provide good support, they're very light & not clunky. I tried on a different brand but my feet were so compressed they started falling asleep(!). This is my first pair of Merrell's & I'm very happy with my purchase!

I was hoping to love these but they were very uncomfortable and the instep was off. Put in my own insoles but it didn't help.

Not waterproof! Bought for a walking trip in the Yorkshire Dales and my feet were soaked on every walk whether rain, sprinkles or just wet grass. Left them behind at the last inn. A soggy mess!

These felt fine on the foot but I have bony ankles and they were too high and rubbed the outer bone (fibula).

these boots fit perfectly except for the fact that I have skinny legs and the top of the boot cut into my leg.!. I felt that I would probably have a sore there after a few miles of hiking! I will try the shorter style.

They looked great but there wasn’t a lot of cushioning or support in the shoe for me needs so I returned them.
