This shoe is rather flat on the inside and does not have arch support to me. I am coming from the Kayano 26. The newer orthotic looking sole of the GT2000 and Kayano 28 is a step backward I think. While the shoe does not feel heavy, it moves with your gait like wearing an orthotic boot. It's so chunky. I do not recommend.

They are nice shoes but unfortunately did not adjust well to my arch. I could not continue to run with them.

I've put far fewer miles on these shoes than 300 - the standard for replacing. The cushioning is already non-existent and my knees are already telling me I need to replace my shoes. I have also developed plantar fasciitis since I've been running in this pair. I figured it was due to getting older (37 years - even though I've been running fewer miles). I replaced these with a 27 and my heel pain is greatly reduced already! These shoes do not offer the stability needed for over-pronation that has kept me buying only the Kayanos for 10+ years. I sure hope the 29 goes back to focusing on stability and durability to handle the miles you should be able to run with these shoes. I do like the wider toe box in this version, though.

Poor quality and support. I walk every day and these shoes didn't make it a month. I walk on a paved walking path or a treadmill. Too expensive

I am disappointed that Zappos is refusing to acknowledge this purchase with Rakuten, the cash rebate service. I decided to buy these because of the 10% cash back deal they were running in partnership with Rakuten. I used the Rakuten shopping trip button. Rakuten is saying Zappos is refusing to confirm that this purchase was made. PLEASE help me expose Zappos for this. I have filed with the BBB, but I know it isn't just me. Please speak up.

I was really disappointed with this version of kayano. I love the kayanos but they keep changing them and all of us long time lovers would kindly ask you to please stop changing something that was already so great. This kayano is a totally different feel and shoe and my foot moves too much in them (feet hurt). Please bring back the original kayano (From 27 and back) I feel that you just keep making new versions for marketing/money purposes and that you would make a lot more money if you just kept the same kayano that people rave about and would improve the quality of the company. Stop changing it!!!!!!!!!

Good support and well cushioned but I think they are defective. The toes looked pushed in on the sides. Makes them look weird.

Felt comfortable when I first put them on but not after wearing them a short time. The inner back of the right shoe bunched up in few wearings.

I like the style and color. The sole of the shoe does not have the same support as the gel nimbus.

The right shoe fit oddly, with edges on one side forcing my foot into an odd position. The left shoe was fine.

I feel deceived. I pay extra for the Kayano due to the sturdy stability truss in the arch area. I noticed the truss was removed and the stability not quite as good as the prior model. Significant material cost savings for ASICS, quality degradation for the customer. I'm investigating other running shoe brands for my next purchase. ASICS lost a 15+ year customer who bought 2-3+ pairs of shoes per year.

They hurt my feet. I have tried to break them in, but my feet hurt too bad. I tired putting my custom orthotics in them and they don't fit.

This style is not very flexible causing me to get a couple of blisters on my one foot. I love the color of the shoe. I will be sending them back!!

The fit and size were good. However, the padding in the heel and below the laces bunched up and made the shoe difficult to put on. I had to use a shoe horn and run my finger around my heel and instep each time I wore them because it bunched up. I am buying another shoe to replace this expensive one that is too much trouble to wear. I bought the shoe for the cushioning, but I didn't expect it to be such a pain to wear.

I don't love them, I didn't want to write this post, I thought I'd get used to them and love them like the other reviews but after a month, I don't. They are clunky and loud and my feet cramp up in them.

This ASICS shoe design does not work for my feet. I’m normally a 9 but the fit too small so opted for 9.5. I tried getting shoe adjusted walking inside house seemed pretty good but the real test was going on daily walk. Unfortunately shoes are so uncomfortable. The more I walked the more my right foot hurt especially. I tried a couple times. Show was tight at top but too wide top of foot. Weird fit. Also not the best support which surprises me for ASICs. Feel like they have skimped in materials and quality!

This shoe definitely runs narrow and it was causing a lot of discomfort for me. The GT 2000-9 and 10 fit much better.

Finding 11 Narrow sneakers is hard...ASICS always has at least one model. These shoes have an excessively thick, rounded top heel edge which compresses/rolls down even when I use a shoe horn. And, it pushes your foot forward.
I'd also recommend:
I wish I could recommend a brand that consistently has good arch support, true fit, and study tread.

These are not cut anywhere close to the previous Gel-Kayano. They are much wider and a much shorter arch. I have a narrow foot but could get by with a medium on the previous versions. I had to return them and am so disappointed because Asics have always run narrow. Not sure what I am going to do. Now they are too much like the New Balance in terms of arch length and support.

The back of the heel slid down into the shoe, so now the cushion is balled up on the back of my heel and it's uncomfortable. There is also no heel support. My Kayano 27 felt more supportive than the 28. I'm a nurse, and after one shift, my feet are killing me in these shoes.
