Nike usual size: 7.5, 8. Brooks Ghost 13 and 14, size 8. Skechers size 8, 8.5. I sized up one full size to size 8.5 for Gel Kayano 28 and it was so tight in the middle. Perhaps it will loosen over time but it is already too long in length. If I had to rechoose my size I would pick 9. However, the price is way too high for unsatisfactory shoe experience. I would enjoy if I had a narrow foot.

Been trying to find a good walking show that allows room for orthotics. I've worn NB for years, but they don't seem to work any longer. Tried this pair of Asics but they too are not roomy enough to allow for arch support insole. Cute, but did not work for me. I'm currently trying a pair of Saucony that have the room I'm looking for,
I'd also recommend:

Ascis is doing it again. Kayano 24 was 12.5 US / 47 EU. The Kayano 28 is 12.5 US / 45 EU. Too small!! Next size up 13 US / 46 EU...still too small!!

This is the 4th pair of kayanos I've bought over the years. I normally love them but this edition was weird in the back. It's like the back of the shoe (the part that goes over the heel) is super short. It's odd and because it's so short, it causes my heel to slip out the entire time during my runs. The shoes are comfortable regardless but I don't know if these are just defective or if this was the intention. Strange. I kept them nonetheless. Not my favorite pair.

They are different from ones I have currently. There doesn't seem to be the same arch support or comfort

This shoe does not give me the arch support I need. When I walk any distance my foot tends to rotate left to right. It makes walking more cumbersome. I want a shoe that keeps my foot from rolling inward (toward the instep). The walk becomes stressful as I try to straighten my foot, and I get tired very quickly. I want to return them.
I'd also recommend:
I like the firm support of my Brooks Ariel 18. The new Brooks are much, smaller than the original!

I have been wearing Gel Kayano for as long as I can remember. I purchased these last year and found them so horribly uncomfortable after one wear that I brought them and leave them at my personal trainer's where I use them in only indoors 1 hour 2- 3x per week. They still look brand new.
Such a difference in construction and materials from former models of Kayano. The upper feels so cheap and reminds me of arts and crafts polyurethane that you can cut with a scissor.
My feet run hot, so I wear a thin sock. The upper pu construction is actually scratchy through a thin sock. Will never buy Kayano again.
Am looking to other models instead. I own several iterations of NOOSA which I like except for the newer toggle laces which are more of an inconvenience than their stated convenience, but that shoe is good.
I also have Gel Venture 6 which I love for trails and uneven surfaces.

I have been buying Gel-Kayano's for years...at least since series 24. They have always been my go-to shoe. I have flat feet and overpronate. These allow me to run without any issues at all. However, the Gel-Kayano 28 hurt my feet. They were too narrow in the arch and toe box. Previous versions were wider. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after I ran in them and my toes were bruised. I don't have a wide foot at all.. I used to be a more of a regular/narrow (being able to fit in either until I had children. I am no longer able to wear a narrow width shoe, but am nowhere near the wide end. These were just too snug/narrow for me. I was very disappointed. Overall they are good shoes but just too narrow. Sometimes "new" isn't better..it's just new. Dear Asics, make the gel-kayano version 27 again. Thanks.

Very comfortable but the bottoms wore out in 4 months of walking about a mile a day

The shoes looked nice. They are not neutral positioning but I thought they would do so I wore them. After a few days of wear my ankles were killing me because they are not neutral they tilt your foot outward.

I've purchased and worn the GEL-Kayano series for years - but this version is different. The back heel covering is soft and gets easily squished down, leaving no support. My prior version had hard plastic support around the back and were very sturdy These feel like one of there less expensive models for sure - wish i could exchange them.

Shoes are okay but the shoe strings are way too short. Not even enough to tie.

I regret buying these. The toe box is too narrow and the heel slips. After wearing them for a couple of weeks, not only do my feet hurt but my gait has been thrown off, causing pain to my hips and and knees. Going back to Brooks.

Don't like the thickness of the back padding above the heel, almost hard to get your foot into the shoe because of it. I feel like their quality just isn't the same, glad I didn't pay full price.

Love the color and design but these are not my favorite for running. They simply seem heavier than my past running shoes - and I’m an ASICS fan. I’m not sure what is different about this model but they’re better workout shoes for me. These are solid shoes but don’t offer much spring in my stride.

They are way to heavy. My feet are narrow and they are too wide, flip floppy. Not happy with them.

I've been wearing these for a while but they just aren't right and I've mostly gone back to my Kayano 27. The padding in the lower part of the heel cup is very thick so the they slip when I wear them unless I tie them tight and then my feet hurt. Don't know if this is the way they were made or these were made improperly. l

I've actually returned these shoes. Asics has changed the foam/support in the front of the shoe - it's too mushy now. Feels very 'athleisure' rather than athletic. Would like to see that returned to what was previously used on the 27 and previous models.

Likely a great shoe for people who have to deal with pronating. I don't have that issue and this focal point of this shoe was not something I caught as a distinguishing feature on your site. So they are on their way back and once I get the credit on my card, I will try again to read carefully about every single style. I love my Asics purchased in a store years back so I don't know what model they are to replace them without more study.

I hate to leave a negative comment on the Gel Kayano shoe - I have been a loyal gel kayano wearer for over 17 years and have probably purchased close to 40 pairs because they were an excellent shoe for my femoral patella knee issues. There is something about the pitch of the 28 that has changed substantially enough that I actually developed knee pain when wearing these shoes - when I reverted back to wearing my 26 version my knee began to heal again. I tried to return the shoes but because I had already worn them (I had become accustomed to feeling confident that this was my shoe and it always worked), i was not able to return them. Just really disappointed that I will have to find another brand as I have loved my ASICS
