They changed the back of the shoe in the Kayano-28 and they slipped a lot. I have very narrow heels. Returned and got the Kayano-27 again.

I wear a size narrow. These shoes are very narrow in the heal which I liked, however, they are too narrow in the toe box. I really think these shoes should have been marked a slim because of how narrow they are in the toe box. They are going back.

The shoes looked really nice. I think they are the nicest looking model of the kayano so far. However the shoes ran a bit small and has a narrow toe box so I had to return them.

I am very disappointed in these shoes and after wearing Asics for over 15 years, I am looking for a different brand. They have a significant collar padding which seems like a good idea, but it has migrated down into the back of the shoe, which it pulls my socks down into the shoe, and the padding makes the shoes all but unwearable. The footbed also uncomfortable and my feet are not happy in these shoes.

Seriously disappointed in the changes Asics has made to the women's Kayano. I've worn Kayanos for a while (years) and loved them for the stability, speed, and responsiveness. The new Kayano 28 is far too cushy with too much bounce. I know this is the trend in runners, but not everyone wants this kind of overly cushy ride. The heel design now sticks out in back, forcing the foot forward in the footbed of the shoe, and the toe-box feels much wider. The result is that the toes slide around and the foot is forced forward in the shoe...not a great feeling while running. My feet are now really sore after wearing the Kayano 28 on runs. Not good. I am truly disappointed in Asics for doing this when they have other shoes that people can turn to for that super lofty bouncy feeling. Why mess with the previously excellent design of the Kayano 26 and 27? I have a smaller foot and Asics are the one runner that has fit. But it looks like it's time for me to break up with Asics. Heartbroken.

I have earlier generations of this shoe. These aren’t as comfortable- narrower toe space, wider heel space. Going back, sadly.

These are not early the same fit as the 27's. Have used them for a couple months but the toe box is tight. I am not a runner but wear them for HIIT workouts. They feel very narrow and my foot kind of slides off the footbed. Should have returned them.

Asics, particularly Kayanos, have been my go-to shoes for years and years. I have many old pairs I use for repair jobs or gardening. Their previous attributes were a wide toe box and a narrow heel. However, the Kayano 28 in regular (B) width is way too narrow in the toe box for me. So I ordered a wide (D) with high hopes. They were wide enough in the toe box but also throughout the shoe. Regardless of the lacing system I used, they were sloppy in the instep and the heel. After about two weeks of wear, as casual shoes and for walking, I developed aching feet, ankle problems, and knee problems. Thanks to Zappos wonderful runlimited guarantee, I was able to return them. I would give them a one-star review, but they still have a supportive heel counter, a great padded tongue, and those semi-stretchy laces.

Have worn gel-Kayan on 10w for years with great fit and comfort right out of the box. This pair of gel-kayano 28 felt small. It was not the length or width so much as the “height”. The top of my big toes had no clearance and was rubbing against the fabric. Maybe fabric content not quite the same as prior?

The new insoles are not as good as the old. When I got the older ones, I didn't have to "break them in", but the new ones hurt and were uncomfortable. I tried to break them in, but I finally have up and ordered two pairs of the gel kayano 27s.

I had to return it because Gel Kayano 28 D did not fit me well, it is not wide size is very narrow, I did not want to give up the comfort of Gel Kayano and and order Gel Kayano27 thinking that it resembled Gel Kayano 26 but no! I also had to return it very narrow and size Wide, I hate having to say this but neither of the two models, has the quality and structure or the colors of the Gel Kayano 26, it is a pity I thought that these two models were superior to the Gel Kayano 26 but no! they are very uncomfortable! what a pity that Asisc gave up quality! I recommended many people and also gave and on special occasions to my family and friends (all very happy but the Model Gel Kayano 26) Definitely Gel Kayano 28 and 27 has a much lower quality I do not recommend!

Although pricey, we had high hopes for this shoe for my kid who was recently diagnosed with Sever's disease. The fit was great, however after wearing them to school for two days, the sole of the shoes started to peel off... Yes, two days and the cheap glue in the shoe sole stopped sticking. We returned them, got a new pair overnighted (Zappos rocks btw, best customer service ever) however the new pair faired no better. Bought On Cloud or third try at this and they have worked out much better. I will never buy another pair of Asics again, waste of time. It is incomprehensible that they don't QC these things better than they did. If you read this, don't say you weren't warned. Worst $150 shoe money could buy. You would be better off starting a fire with those dead presidents, more useful.

Not enough toe room for my bunion, I prefer running shoes because they allow more room for expansion in the toe area, however these Kayano 28 do not.

I couldn't be more disappointed with the new Kayano 28. Ive been a big time Kayano wearer, like 4-5 pairs a year for the last 2 years and they have been the best thing to ever happen to my feet. I was so excited for the 28. The arch support is completely gone and by the time I had walked only one mile in them my feet were aching so bad I had to stop. A good stability shoe really does need arch support. I hope they bring the arch support when they make the 29.

I've bought ASICS before but for some reason these run small. Very disappointing when you spend that much money on a pair of sneakers.

This is a HORRIBLE shoe. It is a completely different shoe than the Gel Kayano 27. They have changed everything about the shoe. It is no longer supportive. It's made narrower... even the wide size. The quality of materials looks cheap. They have completely ruined the Gel Kayanos.

These are so cute, and I wanted to love them, but sadly, even after ordering a full size larger than normal - they were way too small. I have wide feet and usually stick to Brooks, but I figured I would give these a shot - the wide looked and felt like a narrow cut shoe. I couldn't even get half my foot in.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks

I use Gel-Kayano's every year and this is the first year that I have experienced a problem. The hard plastic piece around the outside of the shoe continues into the sole of the shoe and gave me blisters on the inside of my heel after just two easy 5Ks. So disappointed.

Asics are one of the few athletic shoes that fit my fit well and these don't disappoint. It's the 3Cs... Love the comfort, colors and cushioning.
