I usually buy my Asics shoes a half size bigger. Version 28 of the Kayanos is just a bit wider in the toe box. I had Version 23 and they were too tight. Not comfortable if you have any type of bunion. Version 28 is super comfortable but supportive and feels great during workouts. Yay! I will start buying these again.

I've tried other shoes but I always come back to Asics Gel-Kayano. I over pronate and as I've gotten older my narrow feet have spread out and gotten wider. These shoes have a roomy toe box and the heel is snug enough that it doesn't slip. The arch support is very good. I wear these shoes almost everyday. They are excellent for walking and light hiking. I hope Asics will come out with some better color choices for women. I'd love a hiking shoe in Sage Green and one in Adobe Clay. Thanks, Sarah

This is a well-made sneaker I have a narrow foot I am normally a 9 1/2 my big toe is right up there. I wanted to try the 10 but they’re out of stock I did order narrow they could be a hair longer.

Shoe was good, but my toe was coming the edge of the shoe and would have hurt my foot.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and each time I researched shoes these were always on the list. Initially they felt good but about 2 miles into my walk I felt the shoe rubbing a blister on the inside of my left heel. I waited for the blister to subside and tried again but could still feel the shoe rubbing in this spot. The right shoe I had no issues with other than for a wide these shoes seem a bit too narrow.

it was a beautiful shoe, but the toe box was SO tight around the pinky toes. I am older and even though I ordered a wide, it was still too narrow.

I have very narrow feet and these felt narrow from the heal to the toe box. Yeah!

I have unusual size and shape of feet. I am a man who wears an A to AA width -- hard to find. But the Women's 13 AA with a PowerStep insole works well. The only problem I have: I have to be careful inserting my foot into the shoe, or the heel cushion rolls and forms a lump. I had the same problem with the other ASICS 13AA shoe I owned. It's manageable, and worth dealing with for the excellent fit I get in the rest of the shoe.

I usually wear ASICS Gel Nimbus but have been having trouble finding them so I decided to try these. They are wider in the heel. Unfortunately, even with a runner's knot, the heel was slipping.

I didn't like: no notch on the achilles, tongue is too thick, narrow at the outer metatarsal on me. Not a fan of the holes: they don't vent heat and the holes look ragged ; construction is not what I remember from Asics.

Fit is great and comfort is good too, but the heels are collapsed only after 2 months. I've bought ASICS for over 10 years now and never had this problem. I'm not sure how long the heels will stay supported. See photos below.

Asics really changed the fit on these. They were about a half size too big and they were wide enough in the toe box, but tight across the arch. I'm really disappointed, asics used to be a favorite.

Asics has been having quality and fit issues for some time. I was hoping for a return to better times with these Asics, but the fit of this Kayano is too long and feels flat and bulky on my feet. The sole is nice and cushiony, but that's about it. Please, please Asics, go back to the quality and fit that made you famous! :(

Very disappointed in the Asics Gel - Kayano 28. I purchased thinking the Kayano 28 would have great arch and heel support for overpronation. The shoes have lots of cushion but moderate arch /heel support. I upgraded to the Kayano 28 to help with plantar fasciitis, but my heel continues to have pain when wearing. I prefer the Asics GT-2000 and wish I would have purchased those instead.

I am comparing to Brooks when I say these run true to size--with orthotics, I have to wear a 9 1/2 even though my shoe size is closer to 8 1/2 (for sandals). They do feel a little narrower, although not noticeably so. Arch support was pretty good with my orthotics. The issue, and reason for my returning them, is that they pretty quickly began rubbing not just one heel but both. Otherwise, I definitely would have kept them. So disappointing. My next stop is Hokas.

The shoe is very long compared with my Ryka and Merrell size 10's; afraid I might trip. I ordered the mesh to be comfortable around my big toe joints, but the inside stitching for the laces and tongue over the ball of the foot is likely to rub; not quite enough depth in the toebox.
