At a doctor's visit regarding my arthritic ankle, the orthopedic ankle specialist recommended 'rocker bottom' shoes and handed me a sheet of paper with a list of 4 "Acceptable" brands, which, of course, included Hoka. When I first observed rocker bottom shoes, I thought they were a fad that would flame out soon. HOWEVER, the doctor explained that the rocker bottom allowed your weight to be evenly distributed across the bottom of your foot, and most patients experienced significant relief from pain after becoming accustomed to wearing them. I was very skeptical and did not want to wear a fad-dish shoe, BUT I knew I needed to follow the advice of the doctor, so I ordered a pair of Hokas. Rincon 3, specifically. The results are AMAZING! I broke my ankle 13 years ago and have developed arthritis in it. One podiatrist recommended ankle replacement, but I am not ready to make that drastic of a decision. I am actually experiencing much less pain and discomfort in my foot. WOW! I am a Rocker Bottom Hoka Convert.

I FORGOT TO MENTION THE OTHER THING I DIDN'T LIKE IS THE FLAT PAPERLIKE TONGUE ON THE SHOES, ALONG WITH THE FRAYED ENDS OF THE TRIM THAT MEET THE LACES.

The shoe just feels flimsy. No as much support as my Brooks Ghost. I heard wonderful things about Hoka so I wanted to give it a try but I'm likely going back to Brooks.

I do like the shoes for just normal wear, but I am a little disappointed in the comfort level when I go for a walk on the road. I normally walk 1.5-2 miles, and by the time I am finished, I can feel it in the balls of my feet. My heels feel supported, but that's about it. I am a teacher and they are comfy to just wear to work, shopping, etc, but not for longer walks on pavement, which is what I really wanted them for.

The shoes were very large and wide. I normally wear size 6. They felt more like a 6.5 and very wide at the top of the shoes.

I had to send my first pair back because they were too narrow. I have bunions and my feet are hard to fit. The second pair in wide is nice butthe ones I originally ordered, evidently don't come in wide. I had to go up $50 in price to get wide. I like them and they are comfortable after a period of "breaking in". I am hopeful that they will last for a very long time considering the exorbitant price.

I have a very high arch. So I needed to add insoles. I LOVE LOVE the color. I got the berry and hot pink ones. I get a lot of compliments on them. This is why I kept them.

Sadly these shoes will be okay for short runs. I was looking for suitable long distance running shoes. I bought these shoes in a wide to allow feet to expand. After only 6 miles I ended up with blisters on big toes. Back to the drawing board looking for the right shoe.

The plastic tongue is bothersome. I have to put up with it because the Clifton 8 is too wide. I don't see any reason to have made the Clifton roomier when there is a wide width option. (Hoka you ruined that shoe.) The all gender shoes are not that! They are way too wide for the average active women. Stop with that! And the color choices are ugly. The black or white versions in any Hoka shoe are the only sane options.

I didn't like it. It felt plastic and hard and stiff around the toe area, in addition for all the thickness of the sole it wasn't very cushy or springy. The look was okay, but, for me the functionality is more important, therefore back they go.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks

I FELT LIKE THE SHOES WERE GOING TO FALL OFF MY FEET. THEY FEEL FINE WHEN I WEAR THICK SOCKS. THE LEFT SHOE HURTS THE LEFT SIDE OF MY LEFT FOOT WHEN I'M DRIVING.I DON'T KNOW WHY.

Fits my foot very well (size 7) with a fairly narrow profile, making it sleeker than most Hoka, which I like. However, these aren't as cushy as most Hoka, and isn't comfortable enough for long walks for me. I kept them cuz I wore them before realizing how hard the sole is.

Had hoped these Rincon 3s a half size larger than usual with new orthotics would help ease the painful plantar fasciitis in my right foot and I’d be able to take walks again. Unfortunately, they’re not nearly as comfortable as I’d expected. The tongue is oddly shaped and too long, hitting my ankles and causing sore spots. I already have several pair of Hokas that I love, but these were a disappointment.

I felt these Rincons didn't have as much cushioning as I'd like. I wound up adding some gel inserts to help. Compared to the Hoka Clifton 8s these Rincons fall short in comfort. I could not wear them as long as other athletic shoes I've owned. The colors are great and a good variety of colors. I felt they are true to size.

I have to be standing all day because of my job and the shoes are comfortable but they bother me on the top of my foot. I don't tie the shoelaces so they don't bother me, because the pain is a lot.

I own the Clifton 8 and was ready to replace and based on the reviews I decided on these. I found this shoe HARD and incredibly uncomfortable to walk in. I opted to return and purchase another brand (Charly) because although I like my Clifton they aren’t breathable and have shown a lot of wear in a short amount of time.

So glad I paid $133 for the world's loudest and squeakiest shoes. Got these for foot pain and honestly, the pain has gotten worse, but in different spots. I honestly don't notice a difference in comfort between these and normal champion brand shoes.

I mainly bought this product because of the beautiful colors! But it is not the usual type that I use so they are ok to wear for short periods of time but not for 12 hour shifts in a hospital for me.

I was really hopeful for my for a pair of Hoka's but these weren't for me. Great cushion and support but not very comfortable through the toe, even for my narrow feet. For the price I wouldn't keep them. Exchanged for the Solimar and those feel much better.

Love the feel of the shoes and great for daily running, but the tongue on the shoes is too short and slides inside the shoe while running.
