The fit and size were good but something is weird with the HOKA Clifton 8. I purchased my first pair a few months ago and wanted a second pair as a back up. They don't feel the same...they are harder (less cushioning) than the first ones I got and they are exactly the same order. I don't recommend these anymore. Perhaps Zappos got a "bad" batch? I sent these back and ordered a different color and they were just as bad.

These shoes have an insanely high arch, and the arch of the insole is super sharp. I ran in them twice, both times pretty short runs, and I had horrible blisters on the arches of my feet from the shoes.

After reading the reviews i decided to buy a pair. Did not work for me. Medium width was too narrow..shoe felt very stiff. It seems alot of sneakers have these horrible plastic slippery bottoms. Material is just aweful. Not worth the price tag for me at $150 a pair.

The inside sole had something poking me and it was so painful. I took shoe off to make sure I got all the packaging materials out. The shoe is cute and otherwise would have been PERFECT. Nice cushion on bottom, wide enough for my feet, overall fantastic. But I couldn't walk as I was in major pain.

I have a painful bunion on one foot. My doctor recommended this brand. It was important that the shoes were comfortable because I need to wear them inside my kid's house in Texas while I go to help them with a baby who is going through cancer treatment for 6 week periods at a time while waiting for my surgery date back in Seattle. They normally don't wear shoes in the house so I agreed to buy one brand new pair never to be worn outside. Unfortunately, I chose HOKA for these shoes and I do not like them at all!

Not a fan of the Clifton 8. It came up too high on my ankles and the toe box was too big. I returned them for another pair of Clifton 7s, which are perfect out of the box - same size. Hoping that the design is corrected in the next iteration.

I spent a lot of money for these shoes and the rear "lip" cut into my rear ankles so badly I only wore them once. When I tried to exchange the shoes I was told only for a different size so unhappy with this purchase!

These shoes squeak every time I take a step. As a nurse, this is so distracting and annoying since I'm my feet 24/7. It shouldn't be squeaking with the amount of money I paid for these.

I received my Clifton 8's on 1/26/22 and was so excited. I'm a very active person and have tried just about every brand of running shoe in the books. To my disappointment, after just 1 month of wear, a hole started developing in the inside heel of both shoes. Now, after 2 months, the holes are large and are causing me major blisters to the point where I can't even wear them. Super disappointed in the quality, given they are on the pricier end of running shoes. I've had $80 Brooks and Asics last me 12-18 months, so this is a major bummer.

This is my second pair of Cliftons. Initially I purchased a size 7 (told hokas run big; second shoe was a size 7 1/2 - my normal shoe size). Both pairs felt good initially but after any type of exercise or wearing for more than one hour my feet really begin to hurt (burning sensation) and I have to take the shoes off. Awaiting for response on return on the size 7 1/2 sneaker).

This remodel of the Clifton is a huge miss. I have several iterations of Clifton's I've been running in with no issue, then comes the Clifton 8..the collar is comfy but considering the toe box is so huge & wide it seems stretched out & the cushioning that makes you feel like you literally have a spring in your step- is gone, the memory foam collar isn't worth ruining the running shoe Hoka had me recommending to my friends and family. For the time being, I'll be shopping around for another running shoe.

I received these shoes as a gift (after the 30 day warranty) I was so looking forward to using them, but the knee pain I have experienced while simply walking in these shoes is unreal. I have never had any knee pain before in my life and when I switched to my old sneakers it disappeared. The strain these shoes left is not worth the cushion, RUN!!

I really wanted to like them, but my feet actually hurt in them. I had read they were like the brooks ghost which I LOVE, but they are not the same at all. No support - my arches literally ache in them so I bought spenco innersoles, but they still hurt - and I have never had that problem before. And at the end of my run, my heels hurt with each step home. The do feel super cushiony when you walk in them, but they are not for me.

Unfortunately because Hoka does not make half sizes at the high end of the shoe scale, I had to return this shoe. Also felt narrow.

Very disappointed. I only put a star because There was no option not to leave 0 stars. I ordered shoes for my wife's birthday. the order was completely messed up first by sending emails with indications that the order was on backorder, then by the fact the when I did receive the order, it was a pair of 48-49 sized Crocs instead of the running shoes I had ordered!

I almost think that I got a pair mislabeled in manufacturing. It seems impossible that the size 8 I ordered are as large on me that they are. I ordered them and trhew them in a bag to go out of town. I wore them one time thinking they felt a little loose when I put them on, but they were so overly giant on me as I ran my errands. I came back to my place and put them next to other size 8 sneakers, and they are a 1/2" longer. So I went out to a store that sells Hoka, tried a size 8 on-- and that size 8 fit perfectly. So could it be a crazy mixup even though they say size 8? I wore them once, so I don't think I can return them. Just a warning to folks about my experience.
