I own a ton of Arc'teryx and love these pants. They are more than they seem. As far as pants (shells) go.. I also have the Beta AR (hardshell). I LOVE those also, but are often overkill. These pants are EXTREMELY versatile. Very lightweight and VERY breathable. But I've also used them in very cold conditions. I hiked in Denali (AK) for 13 hours straight in -5 temps and was warm and comfortable. In cold weather, with light insulation.. they are great when on the move. They shed snow and light rain great... but I'd probably choose another pant for heavy rain. The face fabric is VERY VERY durable for how thin the material is. I'd say fit is somewhat small, but in a good way. I'm 6', 170 lbs... and Small - Tall fits perfect. They fit tight (athletic), but not too tight, and in a way you want pants like this to fit. Like I said... I love my "bullet proof" Beta AR's for extreme conditions.. but often, these are the right tool for the job. And since they are a thin soft-shell - very comfortable! I get moving in these and don't even think about them - which is what you want from a pant like this.

Just took these on a 14 mile in wet snow/rain and they stayed completely dry. It was as if my legs had there own climate control, the temperature stayed consistently comfortable despite several changes in weather and activity level. The fit was excellent. Durability is still TBD.

it's very light and comfortable. when it wet, it can become dry very fast. Just a little bit long for me. M size, I'm 172cm and 71kg.

Use them for hiking, snowshoeing, and casual wear. Not too hot for summer hikes and use them with a base layer under and sometimes rain pants over for snowshoeing. No back pocket bugged me in the beginning but the side pocket is great. Built-in belt is a big plus.

These pants are totally bomber. They take some serious abuse. I use them for rock climbing and the fabric puts up with all the punishment. The zippered pockets are a really nice touch to keep valuables secured. The one issue I have that keeps them from being the perfect climbing pants is the fastener. I like that it's a built-in webbing belt because it's low profile under a harness however, the hook keeps slipping out of the loop just from rubbing of my harness through normal use. This means my pants start to slide down a little a times which is annoying to fix. I think a change to a closure that locks would be a huge plus.

Love everything about these pants except the fit. The relaxed fit is usually not an issue but these are externally loose around my legs

Excellent pants however a bit large for its size. Be aware. Perhaps this due to the relaxed fit. Compared to the Sigma FL that has a trim fit the Gamma LT is like it is one size bigger. They are rather different even though size chart says they should be the same apart from the style of fit.

I bought these for a mid-October trip to Banff/Lake Louise trip. Temperatures ranged from -5C to 10C, and these were perfect for all activities: casual hiking, longer summit hikes, even cycling. They are a little dainty, however. I had a small slip and fell on a log. Pants stretched at the impact point and stained. No rip though, so really not a big deal for outdoor/hiking pants. They fit a little small. I am 5'8, 160lbs and usually wear 31/32 waist and 30 inseam. According to the sizing guide I should fit in a small, but when I tried those they were uncomfortably tight. I ended up buying a Medium-Short. It is slightly loose around the waist when it is just buttoned, but can be adjusted to a perfect fit with the included belt. The inseam of the short is also a perfect fit.

I love these pants as my do-everything pants. I started out with a pair in size XS and loved the fit and decided to get another pair. This is where I had issues, the second pair I got in the same size did not fit at all the same as my first pair. The crotch seemed to go down a bit lower and fit like boot cut pants, they are so baggy in comparison to my original pair.

Feels nice against the skin. Decent breathability, moisture movement. Smooth outer should prove durable over the long haul. Nice tapered fit. Great articulation Belt webbing needs a keeper of some kind (velcro?) to lock the buckle in place.

These pants r very comfortable I've taken them on my horse or hiking/hunting for days at a time. I wear them in the winter walking the dog. They r very good in the wind and they dry very fast. The only complaint I have is after a while the little belt starts to wear and won't hold sometime undoes when I wear my pack and with the setup they have u can't get a belt in there. Still work ok but can b a bit of a pain. It was a really good thing when it worked didn't bother u under the pack like a belt sometimes does

I was looking for a pair of hiking / all-round outdoor pants that wasn't too baggy. I initially looked into the Sigma FL, but they were too tight on my cycling thighs. The Gamma LT has a nice athletic fit, but the legs aren't as tapered as the Sigma. This isn't really an issue for me as it worked well with my boots. I wore them on a recent hike to the alpines in the northeast/USA. Winds were gusting up to 90mph and temperatures were in the single digits with wind chills. With a baselayer underneath the Gamma LT, I stayed comfortable throughout the 12hr hike. It rained periodically and the DWR held up pretty well too. Overall, these are great pants. Will see how they hold up over time.

These are my first bottoms from Arc'teryx. Amazing feel and comfort. The stretch really makes mobility easy whether I'm playing hopscotch on river rocks or practicing my nap position on the couch. Durability seems great so far. Ankle cuffs work really well but if you run hot it doesn't help much to let heat out when you pull them up to your knees since they're cinched down. On the other hand, it feels amazing with a merino wool baselayer underneath for colder days. Love the sizing options for someone with vertically challenged legs like mine. Also love how trim it looks without being restricting. My other pants in the past give MC Hammer a run for his money. The one and only gripe I have is a subjective one: I don't like the belt. I wish the Gamma LT pant came with belt loops instead. It comes loose after some movement. I also hook EDC items onto my belt on a daily basis and the built-in belt is not burly enough for my gear. Other than that, it's the best outdoor pant I own.

I'm an outdoor pro and for about 8 years have lived in these pants for the summer and have had several pairs They have alway had one weak spot which is the seam up the center of the butt. The exposed stitching gets cut on sharp rocks like granite when you sit. Every pair I have had I have had to resew it even when the rest of the pant is still in excellent shape. About two years ago I ordered an another pair in my usual size and it fit my legs like tights. I don't have that big a legs.I could see that the legs could have been a little tighter than in the older version but I think Arc'teryx has gone too far the other way and several of their other pants are even tighter on me. If I go to the medium the waist is too big. We are skiers, climbers, mountaineers etc. We have muscular legs. Please give us a little more room. Apart from that an excellent pant.

Got my second pair of Gamma LT pants for a Christmas present. I also have a few pairs of the Palisade pants and two pairs of shorts. Great pants! I'm a little disappointed in my new pair of Gamma LTs though. The pants are fine but it's the buckle that's the problem. On my other pair of Gamma LT's the buckle is kind of like sandblasted aluminum which helps the buckle stay buckled. The new buckle looks almost like it's coated with something and very smooth and shiny; looks great but in addition to being glass smooth the lower hook instead of being straight like the old buckle has a little angle on it. With the combination of the angle and glass like smoothness the buckle keeps coming undone. During the day I have to keep checking to see if the buckle is still buckled or not. I'm going to try to file the hook and hopefully that will fix the problem. The new buckle looks great but I hope they bring back the old style or change to something else.

The Gamma LT pants are one of the most recommended items that Arc'teryx makes. They are relatively affordable, fit great, and have great features. They are one of the true very cold weather outdoor pants out there. However, for my purposes, I found them to be overkill. With Prana Brion pants matched with leggings/thermals, I had a cheaper and far more comfortable alternative to cold/wet weather hiking that also allows you to seamlessly pivot from outdoor adventure to city environments without sticking out. The Gamma LT pants are far more technical with less comfort. Though they fit great, just walking around in them feels like wearing rain pants. They are noisy and scratchy sounding, and I did not like them as everyday pants. They aren't as versatile, so you'd need to swap pants between approach and climbing and swap back out for the evening. They are incredibly warm and really peak when the temperature is below freezing. Anything other than that and they are overkill in my opinion.

These are certainly nice athletic pants. The fabric is tough but comfortable. I would recommend these pants for three seasons of active outdoor pursuits.

I'm 6'5 and really struggle to find long enough (35" inside leg) pants. These in LT are just long enough. Unfortunately the older version (2016) is a little baggy for my tall slim build. Really durable even on UK gritstone. Do you plan to make the blue/triton colour in large-tall please?
