Small and easy to carry around

My daughter loves this bag!! Plenty of room for books & laptop!

I bought for a Xmas gift for my college daughter so not 100% sure until she opens. Based on my review of the bag it has the padding needed on the straps, stable core for packing it with books and multiple compartments for keeping things straight.

It's very spacious with tons of pockets and I love the thyme green color! Also the side pockets are very sturdy and don't tear like many others.

I purchased my Surge backpack becuase I had bought one for my son during the spring. I really liked his, so bought one for myself for travel and graduate school. My son is 6'4" and built like a football player so it fits him well. I'm 5'3" and mine fits me well too, even though it's big. It's a physically big backpack so be prepared for that. The back is very firm and does not bend but that seems to be for the wearer's back support. I'm able to easily fit my MacBook Air comfortably in the computer sleeve, and could probably comfortably fit a Pro. There's also a sleeve for an iPad. The bottom expands to make the bag wider. A cool feature is the front side pockets. They seem as though they would only hold a small amount, but they're deceiving since they hold incredible amounts and don't bulge out. Overall, it's a good backpack. I ordered it in the wild ginger heather color since I wanted something different. It's a pretty color. I've already been asked 2x where I purchased this color from and I let them know it's from the website. Also, I purchased the Never Stop Crossbody bag in wild ginger to match. That way, when I'm wearing the backpack, and the crossbody at the same time, I don't have to worry about colors clashing. Overall, a good backpack and glad that I purchased.

I bought this product for school. I am a rising high school senior and will be attending college next year. I knew it was time to get a reliable back pack. I chose the surge backpack because it has a large laptop sleeve and many different pockets for a variety of items. The product, like everything at North Face, is great quality.

Loving my new surge. I bought one and used it on a daily basis to carry my computer to/from the office. After 15 years, some internal linen started to wear (You read it right-15 years!). I decided to retire my old companion, and purchased a new one. So far, so good. There are a lot of inside pockets improvements, but the most noticeble one is the wait. The new model is definitely super light. I love it!

The best backpack that I ever bought. I use it for work and outdoors. It has a lot of organization pockets, a big notebook compartiment (I have a 15"). The water bottle pocket is larger than previous models. Very very happy with my purchase.
