Love the shoe but are they washable?

I am wearing these shoes at work for the first time today. Incredibly comfortable. I bought the navy color, but may order a second pair in gray for work given that they are so comfortable. Look great was well

These look great online but the reality is even better. I'm on my feet all day and need quality shoes. These are definitely as advertised. I honestly get daily compliments! Don't scroll, just buy:joy:

I just spent a long weekend walking Chicago and enjoying my new White Amherst Knit U-Throat Shoes. The shoes are EXTREMELY comfortable, light weight, and so good looking. I do not understand how they can be called anything other than a "Fashionable Casual Summer Shoe." - Sneakers they are not! I normally wear Johnston & Murphy's in 12.5 Wide. The attendant suggested that I order 11.5 Mediums. They fit great! Johnston & Murphy "Hit the Ball Out of The Park" with Amherst Knit U-Throats!

I love Johnston & Murphy shoes, and I have been wearing them for years. So, when I went looking for a travel shoe, J &M was at the top of my list. I have a bad back, so I wanted a lightweight shoe that I could pack for my trip. The shoe needed to be very comfortable for long walks, and it also had to be nice enough to wear with khakis for dinner. This shoe did not disappoint me. It was perfect for my trip, and it is now my go-to shoe. There was no break- in time, so I was able to enjoy them right out of the box. It fit me true to size and had ample room in the toe box. My feet are a bit wide, so some brands pinch me at the top of my foot. I have never had that problem with J&M. Overall, this is a great shoe that can be dressed up or down.

I bought these for a conference in Vegas. Without having any time to break them in, I walked 29 miles over the course of 4 days in these shoes. I had no back or foot pain the entire time (this is a constant issue for me). These are comfortable and lightweight, I highly recommend. They do run big however, I typically wear a 10 and I believe I bought a 9 in these.

Best comfortable everyday school acceptable in the office. Holds up very well, doesn't smell, super comfortable. Better than any Cole Haan I've had.

Once I saw the design of the Activate u-throat, I was hooked. They just looked better than the very typical Cole Haans that I've worn (and everyone seems to have) the last couple years. I have not been happy with the Cole Haan comfort level, and was hoping Johnston & Murphy would fix my issues. I bought two pair (One grey and one white). I bought size 11, as that is what my last pair of J&M were. I can be a 11.5 in other brands, so I guess I'll say these run larger or maybe true to size. The 11's fit perfectly, with a perfect amount of room. These shoes are super comfortable. They are exactly what I've been looking for to meet a very versatile and casual look. I will order a pair of brown, and also black, while they have this particular design. I just love the look, but the comfort is a huge plus!

I just received these shoes today and put them on immediately. I ordered my regular size of 8 because that's the smallest available size and because that same size in the McGuffey GI2 Hybrid fit nicely. Out of the box the shoes look really nice--just as nice as they're protrayed on the website. They're amazingly light and very comfortable. As soon as I slipped my foot into the shoe I knew I would have the same comment as so many others have said--they run large. I could have definitely done well with a 7 1/2 and possibly a 7. I was tempted to rate the shoe less for this but decided not to since it really isn't a quality issue. The shoes seem to be of superior quality. If J&M offered a size smaller than 8, I wouldn't hesitate to box mine up and exchange them for a smaller size. I'm very disappointed that I can't do that but I like the shoes well enough that I'm going to keep them anyway. I'm going to try an extra pair of socks or possibly an insert to help with the extra room, but really, the problem is only in the length. Maybe I'll go old school and stuff newspaper in the toe. :o) Bottom line: these seem to be good quality shoes that are quite comfortable and look very nice. Some questioned the quality in their review but I think that's because they're so lightweight. They're designed to be, and lightweight doesn't mean light on quality. Only time will tell about that but J&M seems to have a bit of history and reputation behind them for support. :o)

Great every day shoe. As others have mentioned, the shoes run large. I usually wear a 12, but had to return. 11.5 fits pretty well, but I think I could have even gone down to an 11.

I get lots of compliments. They are stylish and distinctive. A really comfortable casual work shoe.

I'm a size 9 in pretty much every shoe, brand and style but these shoes definitely run a half size big. Exchanged my 9 for 8.5 and the fit was fine. Very comfortable shoe and very stylish and versatile (works with jeans, shorts or khakis). There was a very slight break-in of about three wearings. After a month of wear liked them so much bought another pair in a different color.

I was trying to find the right casual shoes for comfort and style. As usual, I am very pleased. I started buying J&M shoes 3 years ago. Happy with everything I have. Recommend highly. Quality products!
