These are a great 3 season boot. I live in western Massachusetts so once we get snow you need the taller pair. I love these for those cold wet days in the Spring and Fall. I have enjoyed them on wet camping trips in the summer. I wear a size 9 woman's I purchased a size 8. They run big.

I *love* these Rubber Mocs (I've called them "duck shoes" for as long as I remember)! This is my second pair - the first pair lasted 15 years. Good workmanship, fit is true to size, comfortable.

This is my second pair of these boots. They are so comfortable I wear them year-round. I would recommend them to anyone who works in a garden, takes walks outside, etc.

I've had a pair of 8" Bean boots for several years that I love, but our weather is usually mild so I don't routinely wear them. They are extremely comfortable, so when LLB offered the 25% off promo, I debated (Will I really wear them that much? Buyer's remorse bc they're pricey?) and finally decided to order these low-tops. Oh, my, I'm so glad I did! I've lived in these things ever since they arrived. One might think mostly-rubber shoes wouldn't be comfortable all day, but they are. I wear them with the LLB Cresta wool socks, which are very warm in winter and cool in summer. That these mocs are indestructible and easy to clean when it's messy outside is just a bonus. The size runs just like my Bean boots. I find them to run about a full size large, but not a size and a half (perhaps because my big toes are very long?). I usually wear either an 8M or 7.5M, and in these a 7M fits me well, with just a tad of space at the toe with the wool socks (not a thumbs-width as the enclosed card recommends). A 6 would definitely be too short on me. At first I thought the heel was going to slip, as the LLB video mentions, but if they're slipping at all, I don't even notice it. The laces can snug them up a bit, and so far they're staying tied even though the laces are leather. These shoes are great for casual everyday wear and a "Bean boot" look.

I'm on my third pair of Bean Boot Mocs because mine come up missing when my daughter returns to Ohio University every fall. She does so much walking at school that she wears out a pair of LL Bean Boot Mocs each school year. But, if success in an Engineering degree is dependant on a yearly pair of mocs...no problem! We both have a narrow foot, so the mocs are really appreciated due to availability in different widths and are always true to size.

I usually wear 9 1/2. Ordered 8 and they are perfect. Comfortable & they don't make my feet look big.

I've had several pairs of these. I've always wanted a pair in blue but the powers that be at LL Bean deemed that this color would only be for women. Well. I ordered the appropriate size in women's and it fits perfectly.

I received today my refurbished "duck' shoes. I sent them about 6-8 weeks ago and knew that it might take 6-8 weeks. Since there was a slight damage to the top portion, I decided to have my 20 year old "duck" shoes refurbished, especially since LL Bean no longer makes size 5 shoes, so this was the only way I could get the proper sizing. It WORKED! Old shoes like new with a reasonable price, and well below a new and ill-fitting pair. Just a good solution to a difficult situation.

There isn't much I can offer that's different from the other 1691 reviews, but here we go. :D
Everyone's feet are slightly different so minding the size is critical. And even then -- they may not be for you. I think the sizes are actually men's sizes so order accordingly. For me (a 7.5W for most shoes) I ordered a 6R and it's a good fit for me. Yes, the heel will slip a little -- like a clog if you've worn that kind of shoe before, but you're supposed to wear socks with these and with socks they are fine. I can't see going sockless, but that's just me. They're super comfortable to walk in and easy on the back for standing -- both at the top of my list for any shoe.
I find the arch support adequate for me -- pretty darn good for a rain shoe. And the insoles can be swapped out if you want.
There are a lot of lookalikes out there and I have no experience with any of them but these Bean mocs are made solid -- seriously. There is nothing flimsy about them and they should last a good long time. Worth the price, IMO.
I've been buying stuff from Bean for more than 30 years and I've always been pleased with the quality and customer service.

Yes, these run big. I am a consistent size 7 1/2 medium in shoes and boots. I ordered these in a 6 and there is plenty of room all the way around. I am wearing them with mid-weight socks and they feel somewhat like properly fitting closed-heel clogs, which have some room in the heel when walking. So I have no problems whatsoever with the fit. What I like about these is the ease of getting in and out of them, also much like a clog. I'm pretty happy to have a shoe with great traction that keeps my feet dry in the morning grass, puddles and slush.

I have constant foot and ankle problems. I had surgery last September and have never ending pain and swelling. These shoes are the most comfortable things I have ever worn. I wear them all day and my foot does not hurt! Worth every penny! They do run large/wide which was a plus for me because of my bad foot. I sized down an entire size, and they are still a smidge too long, but thick socks, and tying the shoelaces tighter keeps them in place great. My feet stay dry and warm all day. I would recommend these to everyone!

I wear a size 8 1/2 shoe, and per the other reviews and sizing guidelines I went down a size, to an 8. I also purchased the shearling insoles, thinking that they would be cozy and help with any sizing issue. Boots became too short for me immediately when inserting the shearling insole. On their own, boots fit fine with my regular thick socks (my feet are always cold), OR fit me fine without socks when I tightened the laces. The lace tightening is easy and made a big difference. So I'm glad I went with the 8, and love the look and the feel. Have you noticed that Joanna Gaines from "Fixer Upper" on HGTV wears these? Hopefully I will look just as cool as she does while wearing these Bean boots.

I normally wear a 7 in all my shoes - ordered a 6 and a 7. The 6 fit perfectly. I get so many complements on them.
I'd love to buy another pair, if only they came in black. Listen up, LLBean, and offer these in black too, please!

RI has had SO. MUCH. RAIN! And it'll probably not rain again now that these wicked good mocs came in the mail today (you're welcome, RI!)! I tried on my usual size 7 in store-definitely too big but width felt fine even sockless.Ordered a 6 online & they're perfect! Enough room to be comfy with a thin-medium sock (tried on with a thin wool ankle sock & a Bean cotton ragg sock), but I think I will buy the shearling insole since I'm usually sockless. I think these will be great for all but the messiest/heaviest of weather & I've no doubt they'll last a lifetime, even in New England!

After reading reviews I ordered 1 1/2 sizes down and they fit great with thin sneaker socks. I keep them at the back door for a quick slip-on for whenever I need to do yard work or to run errands in the rain. No adjustments needed to the lacing. Perfect slip-on/slip-off. The leather was stiff at first but softens after about 2 weeks. Great quality and anticipate having them for a very long time!

Since reading the reviews recommending ordering down a size or half size, what I received is what I expected, slightly more room in the rubber moc than needed, BUT STILL GREAT! If I want them to fit more snug if a little cold outside, I can put heavy socks on and they'll fit great! If it is warm outside & don't want socks on, they are loose but DO stay on my feet if I need to do muddy or messy yardwork, while keeping my feet clean, dry and cool! They are exactly what I needed and fit well enough for the types of yardwork I got them for! Don't care about stylish yardwork shoes, functional is what I needed, wanted and that is what I received. PERFECT!

I love these duck shoes. However, they do run larger than expected. They say to order one size smaller than your size.
If you plan on wearing heavy socks, your correct size should
be sufficient.

I did not buy these mocs to make a fashion statement. I bought them for sheer practicality. But these are actually kind of cute (and practical, win-win)!
The description on the item page and in the video is accurate, so definitely pay attention to it. I ordered a full size down from my normal shoe size, and the length is just right. They are a bit wide all the way around and especially so in the heel. The back slips a bit, but tightening the laces over the top of the shoe does help.
I'm really happy with my purchase and expect to have these for many years! Thanks, LL Bean!

I am very happy with this shoe. I ordered this to have an easy slip on option for heading to the yard to work or walk the puppy in wet, rainy weather. Perfect for that need. I followed the advice to order one size smaller than normal and they fit. I usually wear a 9. Ordered an 8. With med - thick socks they are fine. Slip on the heel with no socks on. I also was able to adjust the fit just a little by tightening the laces. Don't expect to tighten them like a regular shoe, but they will snug up just a bit. Love them and would recommend them. I am so glad I ordered these as it has been raining here in Missouri for days! Thank you LL Bean for a Made in the USA product!

Great sturdy shoe for wet and muddy situations. Runs almost a size and a half large. I wear a size nine and had to return them for an 8 and the 8 are plenty roomy. If they came in half sizes, might have tried a 7 1/2.

This is the 2nd pair I've bought. The first was in 2008 and I will be getting those resoled by LLBean. I wanted a new pair since I wear them daily on the farm and running errands. So comfortable and look good. But it's true what the reviews say about the shoes running large. I couldn't find my old order nor find the size on the old shoes. Depending on a shoe style, I can wear anything from a 7 to an 8. I ordered a 7 but had to return it for a size 6. They were perfect!!
