I have hunted and fished in my pair for 30 years and am just now preparing to send them back for re-soling. I wear the Thinsulate models with a single pair of heavy merino wool socks - they are plenty warm ! Mine are not Gore Tex, but have kept my feet dry in very wet conditions. Highly recommended !

My high school son loves the boots. They are warm and are very comfortable. Order a size down from regular shoe size.

I bought these at the flagship store in Freeport, but had to return them 2 days later. The boots were fine, but I have neurothopy (sp) in my left foot, and the arch caused much pain, as it is very rigid. The store took them back without hesitation. The right boot felt fine!

I bought these for my son who is a freshman at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC...all he could say was, "SWEET! Thanks Mom!!". He loves them...they are warm, stylish, and fit well (he wears a 10 1/2 M and I bought a 10 M). A lot of college kids are wearing them. They must be back on the trend list. It was a great purchase!

These are the best, longest lasting boots ever. My old pair lasted 15 years. Love the warmth of Gore-Tex/Thinsulate lining.

I bought these for my son over the summer for this winter - when he tried them on after our first snow storm - hmmm they didn't fit. I immediately called LL Bean - and problem solved - they sent me the next size - no questions asked. Sent a return label for small pair. Who would have thought an 11 year old boys foot would change 1 whole size in a few months. As for the boots - my son says they are the best boots he's ever had. He wears a men's 9 - and we traded the men's 7 for an 8. I'm sure I'll be getting the men's 10 next winter!!!

We got about 8 inches of snow a couple days after I received these boots and they were warm and kept my feet dry as I had to be outside. Luckily my wife used the guide to order the correct size...I am a 9.5 and it said to go down to a 9. They fit great.

Ive had these boots about 2 weeks.I knew what i was buying before ordering as i have 6 other pairs in diferent lengths.Thers 8 inch boots ill wear in a little deeper snow.My favorite is a 6 inch thats over 30 years old and still in good shape.Even the laces are still pretty good.Ive always belived LL Bean makes the finest boots over anyone. These are Gortex and lined.Great idea.but honestly ive never had a water leak or wetness in any one of the boots.I still call them the Maine hunting boots.Best on the market.Best looking, and surely the best quality and value for the money.Just cant be beat.

Just what the description said. I just took my dog for a walk during the recent blizzard and my feet were warm and dry when I came back. I followed the size advice and it worked.

I bought these boots for going outside during the winter/rainy days. These boots are very comfortable and keep feet dry. They only have 200 grams of insulation, so being out in the cold for extended periods of time will cause your feet to naturally get cold. Work great for what I need.

WARM AND WEATHER PROOF! We've already put them to the test in our first snow storm of the year. Can't get a better boot- very comfortable, durable, warm, great traction on icy, snowy paths!

I love these boots. In the four years I have worn these boots my feet have never been wet. Very comfortable, and they can be resoled! The only problem I have is after years of use the stitching starts to wear off were my pants contact the boots.

I have lived in Buffalo NY for my entire life. Harsh weather is what we do best. These boots are THE BEST product I have ever purchased to get me through winter. I could not possibly be happier. They don't make your feet sweat, they are toasty warm, with great traction. They provide fantastic mobility and as for comfort...I wear them for 15 hours a day. Yes they are comfortable. Don't hesitate to buy these boots. They are worth every penny!

Just got these boots as an Xmas gift and I could not be any happier. Of course, the day after I get them we get a snow storm, and so far my feet are toasty. Never been a fan of winter boots, but these boots changed that opinion. My feet are warm, dry, and comfortable. Perfect with a heavy sock. The sizes fit pretty close to my shoe size. I am wearing a size 10 shoe, size 10 boot with a little room for thick socks.

I bought these boots earlier this year after years of admiration -- recent (i.e. now) snowstorms in Dublin (Ireland) meant the first use of boots -- with thick socks added - perfect (and I wear skirts/tights all the time, so no need for trousers with these boots, either)! Am able to walk down sidewalks, cross streets, bypass sludge and all with warm, cosy feet. only a few slippery incidents (but haven't fallen yet), but watched others with so-called adventure/outdoor boots having problems. Bless L.L. Bean!

I ordered these boots 2 years ago. Still going strong. Very comfortable. I really appreciate the availability of different widths. I have not found this amenity with competitor (similar) boots. Over the years I have had three pairs of these types of LLB boots. I am still coming back. A very important fact for me is that these boots are made in the USA (Maine).

I bought a set of these about 15 years ago and I still use them frequently. I tore the original lowers up working in a lumberyard and shipped them back to LLBean. They replaced the lowers for a very reasonable price (even changing the size for me). They are completely waterproof. I have used them working construction and standing in ankle deep water for an extended period of time is not a problem! The only thing to watch out for is that these are not for everyday use. You definitely want to wear some sort of moisture wicking socks, because your feet will sweat. Also, wearing these indoors will build up some serious static electricity! But neither of these is a problem with the boot, just something to be aware of.

My son is now old enough to buy his first man sized LL Bean boots! He LOVES them, wears them whenever he can. I know they last forever because my husband and I have both had these for at least a decade. I would NOT recommend going 1 + 1/2 sizes down, for thin socks. They were way too small and we had to reorder. He wears an 8 1/2 and the size 8 was perfect.

So I've had my shoes for a few weeks now and they are great. A quick note on the sizing, they are right that you should order a size down unless you are planning on wearing monster socks. I had a problem because I am usually a 10.5, so I took the advice and ordered size 9, instead of 10. At first I wasn't sure that I made the right call because they were a bit tight, but they seem to be loosening up, and they weren't prohibitively tight in the beginning either. Just a note to all the half-size people out there, I'd go with the 1.5 size down and let them stretch a bit. Other than that, the shoes are really fantastic. They are completely dry, although I haven't worn them in deep snow yet, but it seems like the only way anything is getting into these bad boys in over the top. I don't know what the other options are like, without gore-tex or without thinsulate, but these shoes are really really warm. They might be the warmest shoes I own, definitely warmer than many pairs of slippers I've owned over the years. They are really light too, which is great considering they are the 8 inch. Overall, I would say definitely worth the money, these shoes appear to be top of the line. I see myself getting a lot of use out of these shoes for a very long time. Very satisfied.

These boots are great. They fit just as L.L. Bean says. It is crafted very well. I have been wearing these boots for about a week now and they are breaking in nice. The Thinsulate is a great addition, along with Gortex. I feel that these boots are very tough and well worth the money.
