It's a perfect weight either as a second layer or all by itself. Very cozy and the hood is the real thing.

Just washed it and the colors are as bright as ever. I love tops and jackets with hoods. Any piece of clothing from LLBean will last me a lifetime.

I have two of these in Regular Medium: Black Watch and Princess Mary. The fit is what I would expect for a relaxed fit, not snug but not overly loose. There was no noticeable shrinkage after machine washing and drying. I was careful not to dry at higher heat because of the 100% cotton fabric. I love how they look and feel. Not too heavy, perfect over a tee in early fall. Roomy pockets, outside and inside. The Princess Mary fabric looks much better than it displayed on my screen, which showed a brighter green. I am tempted to order a third one. I would be careful about wearing it alone as a shirt, as it feels like a light jacket and I might unzip it without thinking! I am 5'7" and 147 lbs.

Great lightweight jacket. Originally bought xl because I knew I'd layer but returned for the large. It's roomy for layering but not too big. Well made. Zips over all the parts which can be a challenge.

I love my zip up flannels from Bean. I had bought one for a recent trip to Scotland and whiten I accidentally left it in a hotel I ordered two replacements from the airport before I even returned to the USA. They are warm but not so much so that they could not be worn as a layer in 3 seasons. Even some cool early and late summer nights would call for these. M only issue, as with most Bean tops is that the hip area is very slim fitting while the rest of the garment is too loose. I always go up one size because of this, often making my tops appear frumpy and boxy with too much loose fabric. Hey Bean, do you need a new hourglass shaped model? Regardless I love these flannel zippy hoodies and now have them in 2 colors, while looking forward to buying more.

The fit is spot on and I love the slightly thicker flannel for warmth. This is my second, I also have the red/black buffalo check. Well made, few if any wrinkles, no shrinkage, perfect!
