Zero hesitation...buy this now! I am 5'5", 220 lbs, and bought this in a 2x. It fits me perfectly, is well made, and looks and feels amazing. The quality is worth the price and I cannot wait to buy one in every color. I am excited to have found the sweater fleece, thank you LL Bean.

This is my first purchase of this sweater, and I love it. I ordered it in two colors, sailcloth and kelp and they are just beautiful. I ordered a size Large and I would say it feels more like an XL but I wanted to be able to wear layers. I probably could've gotten an Medium and been ok. I've worn them in weather around 40-50 degrees and have been perfectly toasty outdoors and borderline hot indoors. I'm 5'7 and these are long enough to cover my backside when wearing leggings. Love the roomy front pocket too.

I purchased this sweater fleece specifically for my recent hiking trip in Shenandoah National Park. As I was following the weather forecast, I saw the predicted temperatures drop into the 20's and thought that I could benefit from purchasing an additional heavy layer. The sweater fleece was perfect - I wore a fleece-lined base layer under it, and sometimes wore a light Thermoball down jacket on top (which came off once I got moving). It served me well over 3 days of 11+ mile/day hiking in max temperatures of 28 degrees, and looked and fit amazing.
I am 5'9", 140 lbs with a thinner build on top - the small fit me perfectly. I would have liked slightly longer sleeves, but I'm used to shorter sleeves at this point. It was loose enough to fit a layer or two underneath, and slim enough to wear my size small North Face Thermoball on top of. I love it so much, that I'm seriously considering purchasing a second one in an additional color (love the plum, now want green).

This fleece is perfect for our Michigan climate as we move into the cold season. It fits well over a long-sleeved shirt and under a coat. I have received several compliments about how attractive it is.

The fleece pullover is beyond warm & comfortable. It's so soft & light. Kept me toasty warm on my recent flight to Iceland. Looks very smart.

I ordered this pullover right as the weather started to cool off here in Alabama, and I am so glad I did. As a hot-natured college student, I walk nearly everywhere and sweat even on cool days, but this pullover is the perfect weight. The fleece lining makes it warm, and it is easy to layer over t-shirts and button downs. The front pocket is also great for keeping your hands warm on cool mornings. Overall, this is the best pullover I own. Keep up the good work, L.L. Bean!

This is an easy and cozy warm layer to throw on that doesn't look to frumpy or baggy, which I love. It fits true to size I think, and is easy to layer with.

LOVE! Cozy not restrictive, can fit a layer underneath. Fits well in arm length and not baggy in torso. Will be living in this as it gets cold out so better buy another!

Okay, so after scrolling through what felt like 1,000 reviews... I decided to take the majority of advice and size up. Glad I did!! For reference, I am 5'4 125lbs, 36B, athletic build. Ordered a size medium when traditionally am a size small in LLBean. Fits amazing, just enough room for a thick layer underneath. So soft and cut is flattering! Definitely planning on ordering in another color.

Before this item came out for women, I bought a medium in the men's size. It was a tad big, but I loved it. Color is kind of a heathered orange. Right after that, Bean came out with this item in women's sizes. I am 5'2" and 143 pounds. I have long arms, so rarely order petite sizes. I chose the blue color in a large misses and it arrived quickly. I love it. I usually wear it with slim pants or leggings. The length of the item completely covers my rear, but just barely, so it isn't too long. Length of sleeves covers my longer arms, but if they were too long, I'd just fold back the cuff which is something I have to do with the one I ordered in men's sizing. I can't tell you how warm and cozy I feel in this. The blue has trim of grey, which coordinates so well with my grey skinny pants. I can wear a tee shirt under this if I want more warmth, but I usually just wear a camisole. Wish it came in prettier colors. I don't want to order the pink because it is too close to the heathered orange I have.
I can't say enough good things about this item or about Bean. I have been a loyal customer for around 20 years. I have their credit card, so all shipping, return shipping, and monogramming is free. Plus, for my state, there is no tax. And their customer service is outstanding.
This item doesn't appear to shrink and comes out of the dryer ready to wear. However, since I really love it and want to preserve it for a long time, I usually hang it on a hanger right from the washer. It dries quickly.

I'm 5' 7.5" and 140 (ish) lbs and I bought a medium in the sailcloth color. This fits so well, a little loose on the arms and body but cozy loose, definitely not too big. It also looks really good, I'll be wearing it camping and out to happy hour.

This is a terrific pullover. I own (I think) one of the traditional LLBean fleece pullovers this is modeled after which is now 28 years old! I'm still wearing it! One caution: I read the reviews about ordering one size up and followed that advice, but have to return and exchange it for my usual size in LLBean tops. I ordered a petite large though I always order petite medium, and the large was just WAY too big. I've reordered in the medium and am confident that will be just fine.

love this pullover! It's great for walking around campus especially when a full jacket is just too heavy for fall days. Highly recommend... especially if you were paying $100+ for fleece-type material pullovers from Patagonia (myself including, lol).

The perfect pullover weight.....super soft brushed fleece on the inside and a tighter (slightly windproof) cotton knit on the outside. So cozy. I usually wear LLBean medium tops, and I bought this one size up in order to have it loosely fit and to wear a shirt underneath. Love the fit. I bought one and am going back online to buy more right now. Its that great.

So comfortable, durable, warm and versatile!
They're great to wear camping, backpacking, hiking or just doing yard work or sitting around a fire. I have 4 of these- Kelp Green, Pewter, Royal Plum and Sailclotch. They're so nice looking and fit beautifully! 10/10 recommended.

I read the majority of the reviews prior to ordering and ordered a size up based on reviews. Glad I did...I'm 5'6" 145 size 8, 34C normally wear a small top in all LL Bean styles..ordered a medium..first off I purchased the Oatmeal colored pullover, and its very true to color, great quality ...the pullover is styled to be fitted, but since I ordered up, wearing a long sleeve top under it will not be a problem. Very happy customer, can't wait for fall like temps

Absolutely perfect! LLBean never disappoints - this fleece is a perfect combination of feeling cozy while still looking put together. I was worried about sizing, but I'm satisfied that I ordered a small (for reference, I am 5'3" and 115 lbs...I also have somewhat broad shoulders, which is what prevented me from ordering an XS). I can easily wear another shirt under the fleece, but it is also comfortable to not wear anything under it. It is slightly longer than I expected, but that wouldn't stop me from buying more in the future. However, it would be great if this fleece was eventually offered in petite. I ordered the color "bright sapphire" and it is just gorgeous.

This jacket allows a girl with a curvy chest to look attractive and fitter than I am.There is nothing matronly in this jacket, but I would recommend sizing up. I am a medium by measurement, but the large leaves room for layers. No slothfulness here-its perky even if you're not...seriously. When worn with pants/shorts this makes a great jacket for any activity...will wear in cooler weather though as we are getting into summer now.LOVE the softness.....

This might be the best thing I've bought from LLBean. It is warm, snug, and versatile. I wear it around the house and out on the trail. I ordered a small and it fits great even though I have long arms. Overall fantastic product. You won't regret it!

I love this sweater fleece! It's thick and warm which is perfect for New England winters. If you are debating between two sizes, I would pick the larger size. I normally wear large and this large was a bit more snug in the chest than I am used to. However, it still fit nicely everywhere else. It might just depend on your body type. I bought it in bright sapphire. I am considering getting it in other colors too. I love it so much!

I've purchased 3 of these pullovers. Fits great and perfect for chilly fall days and even into winter with a light sweater underneath. Washed several times and no pilling. My daughter loved my gray one so much she ended up taking it home with her and I had to purchase another. :-)
I'd suggest purchasing a size up to comfortably layer, I'm a size S and the Medium works perfectly with a thermal or sweater under without being bulky.

I bought it yesterday in black. This fleece is a next-level fleece: it's warm, reasonably stylish given that it's a fleece, and nicely detailed.
I usually wear XS in LL Bean's fitness fleece, but I went with a Small in this one. The knit of this fabric is stiffer and tighter than a regular fleece, so it doesn't have as much stretch when you pull it on. The XS fit nicely on me once it was on, but the sleeves were a little short and it was uncomfortable pulling on and off (made me a little claustrophobic), so I wound up sizing up just for ease of wear. The Small fits slightly looser, obviously, but it's still quite feminine for a fleece.
It's really nice looking in person, no loose threads, nice stitching, and that wonderful kangaroo pocket. It's also plenty warm: I wore it outside today being active in 35* with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath, and I was chilly when the wind blew, but basically fine otherwise.
It's oddly stylish, well-made, comfy and warm. What more can you ask of a fleece?

ILOVE MY FLEEVCE PULLOVER. THE COLORS ARE TERRIFIC. I HAVE THE PURPLE BUT MY DAUGHTER IN LAW HAS GREEN AND ANOTHER COLOR. FOR CHRISTMAS, THIS WAS A GREAT GIFT WE GAVE TO THREE OTHERS. THE SIZING IS ACCURATE. I USUALLY WEAR L OR XL AND THE LARGE FIT FINE.
I WAS TRULY SURPRISED BY THE AMOUNT OF WARMTH. I WORE IT TO HOCKEY UNDER COAT AND WAS TOASTY WARM!!!!
