I like these shirts, but the sleeves have gotten longer than necessary. I would not give a high rating for this reason. The No Fly Zone shirt was even worse, the sleeves hang to the fingers...ridiculous tailoring. I would only recommend these shirts if longer than normal sleeves are what you're looking for.

Got my two new Scotch Plaid Flannels in last week. The material is the usual Bean quality however the sizing was terrible. I ordered 2 shirts in Large/regular. The sleeves are so long that rolling the cuff up twice still leaves them just above my wrist. Rather than go through the trouble of repacking them and taking them to the UPS store to return them, I just kept them. Maybe the next one's will fit better. I would recommend these for someone with very long arms. I can't believe every nickname I chose was taken....impossible. Now I won't recommend this shirt to anyone.

Your flannel shirts are beautiful. The high quality fabric is soft and substantial. The front placard does not curl after washing like Land's End. It is a "5" shirt except the sleeves are significantly too long. The problem has been going on for a long time. It is nice that customers can send the shirt in to have it altered, taking 3 inches off the sleeve. However, you generally charge the customer for the service.
If the sleeves were appropriate, we would buy one in every color.
Please fix this problem. We love the shirt.

A great shirt but not as heavy as I expected. Maybe I did not read the description correctly but I bought one of these last year and the flannel seems thicker in that one. At $ 54 I expected it to be the same as the prices were. I will need to be more careful or compare to other suppliers.

I have purchased almost everyone of the tartan patterns of this shirt in the past but ended up getting rid of all of them from the last bunch because; 1) the fabric pills and shrinks 2) the "traditional fit" sizing has been changed to resemble more of a trim fit. Smaller in the chest and shoulders. Now I am buying the wicked good flannel shirts instead. Cost a few dollars more but worth it. The shirts do not shrink and they actually fit the way the other shirts used to fit. Hey LL Bean-why not make the tartan patterns in the wicked good fabric too???

Have order this shirt for years but this one had sleeves that are almost an inch longer than those on past shirts!! The fabric, workmanship, and quality are equal to that of past shirts but the sleeves are way too long.
Not what I was expecting from LLBean.

This shirt feels great and fits perfectly on a regular sized guy (5-9 and 160 lbs) but the sleeves are about 3" too long. I'll keep the shirt because it feels so great but will have to roll the sleeves up every time I wear it. It is rare for me to have this problem so not sure who they modeled the sleeves after.

This flannel was a bit frumpy coming out of the dryer...disappointed in that for Bean. Will need to touch it with an iron. Wish you had a better autumn color/design.

the large size of this apparently well made shirt was much larger than any large size shirt I have ever bought. Had to send it back for refund.

My XXLT shirt fits fine -- not quite like my all time favorite sun-washed canvas shirts, but fine. The sleeve length is just fine for tall sizing, BTW.
My complaint is with the fabric quality. Holy cow did this shirt shed a lot of lint for the fist half-dozen washings! I had to clean the drains in my laundry room there was so much. And the finish of the shirt is now pilled all over. Small pills -- not severe at all -- but still kinda unsightly.
The fabric seems kind of stretchy too, which might be the root cause of the other comments that the shirt seems baggy.
I keep washing this one hoping that eventually it'll acquire a nice slightly-worn flannel finish. That doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
This'll be the last of these that I add to my closet.

The product looks good but the sleeves are way to long for a regular sized shirt! The yarn dyed material is very nice and plush!

Fit and feel was perfect on these shirts. I have had a few in the past and loved them. However, the other reviewers are dead on about the "pilling" after the first wash! I could not believe the amount of pills especially on the Black Watch one. I have had to work hard to get them all off.
Hopefully, they will not show up after more washings! Other than that, excellent flannels!

I am tremendously disappointed that you are no longer offering the Wicked Good flannel shirts. This flannel shirt, the Men's Scotch Plaid, is not made as long lasting. After washing, this shirt loses a lot of fibers in the dryer, and becomes "wimpy." The Wicked Good stood up to many more washings, didn't lose shape or pill, and looked new for a long time. I will not be buying any more of the Scotch Plaid flannel.

I bought this in the large regular fit and it was very "baggy" right out of the package, also the sleeves are very long. I thought that it may shrink up after a couple of washes but it's still the same. I'm 6'2"
so to have sleeves this long on a large, regular fit tells me that it was sized incorrectly, but that's the way with LL Bean nowadays, not the LL Bean we grew up with.

I bought 2 of these shirts in L tall in different color plaids. The blue plaid shirt was a full inch shorter in the sleeve and 2 inches shorter in the shirt length. I buy tall for my husband because he needs the extra length. The one shirt is sized similar to a regular and will be going back to llbean. I expect better consistency in size for the price of these shirts.

Quality of workmanship is excellent but quality control is poor. I have purchased five shirts from LL Bean over the past twelve months, all small in size but the sleeve length vary as much as 2 inches from the shortest to the longest. This is very frustrating to say the least. I can't believe LL Bean can't manage to have their manufacturers held to a +- 1/2 inch tolerance on all their long sleeve shirts.

Nice looking shirt, but the sleeves are too long. I have two older shirts of this item and the sleeves are fine, but this new shirt's sleeves are still too long after the first washing. Otherwise, the shirt is of good quality.

I like shirts to be roomy, but this one is huge. I wish I'd gotten the slightly fitted one.

I decided to try a flannel shirt other than the "Wicked Good" ones that are the best flannel shirts I've ever owned. Unlike the "Wicked Good" ones they don't come out of the dryer needing no ironing. The bottom edges curl up and the material does not lie as flat. These shirts are about the same as I would expect from a department store in quality. I did not return the shirt but it is not of sufficient quality to buy another.

I ordered this shirt in the Graham of Mentieth color for my husband. The color looks so bright and colorful in the picture. The shirt is actually more subtile. Not sure of the fit yet but the thickness of the flannel is also nothing to brag about.

I bought my husband several of these a few years ago and they have held up well. They are great shirts.
I ordered this one for him for Christmas in the same size he already has, but this new one is HUGE! It is at least one size too large. I hope to exchange it for a better fit, because it really is a great shirt.

I'm 5'10/190 and normally wear a regular large shirt. In the past few years I have ordered regular large shirts from some other companies online only to find them too small. I ordered this shirt in the large regular and the large slightly fitted. I was swimming in the regular large and the slightly fitted large was also too roomy. Quality, good looking flannel. I'll reorder in both medium sizes and see if that works.

VERY thin cotton material. Not the "Flannel" I was expecting.
Save your money.
