I've bought Bean's Scotch plaid flannel shirts since the early 1970s. They served me well, even when I was in the Peace Corps and the shirts were handwashed on rocks in Africa. I'd easily get years of wear from them.
Nearly all of these shirts that I've purchased over the last 8 or so years just don't hold up, even though I'm using a washing machine and air dry the shirts. Now I find that I only get a year or two of useo before the collars start to go. That's with maybe with 3-4 days of wear/month.
Unrelated, I wish Beans would offer more of the traditional patterns, as they did way back then.

Love the material but this item is much too big. I used to be able to trust LLB sizing but not anymore. Nothing is standard. Even piece to piece of the same ordered item is different.

My son and husband will open these shirts at Christmas so a review is not appropriate yet. However, the charged price of $59.95, was more than the price tag on the garment. I called CS and they are supposed to credit my account $20 ( I purchased 2 shirts),

They don't make flannel shirts the way they use too!

LL Bean sizing is off from other brands. Ordered some large shirts and they're enormous. But mediums are too snug.
The patterns and materials are great but the fit is too off. Probably won't buy LL Bean clothing anymore.

I love Bean's Scottish plaid shirts, but this new one does not fit like the previous ones. I have purchased. I own 10 others. The sleeves are too long, the shirttails are too long, the neck is too large. I am pretty disappointed, but I am altering the shirt to try to get it to fit correctly.

Color in the photo was misleading. Not what I hoped for but kept the shirt.

Ordered 2 of these, one for myself and one for my kid. Different sizes but both are huge and need to be exchanged for smaller sizes. Fabric is soft and seems like the shirt will be comfortable. But the sizes are way off from LL Bean typical shirt sizing.

I had to return my shirt. Sleeves way to long. I have long arms and was surprised to have that issue. Price ok cheaper then competition

The large I ordered fit me like an XL. Sleeves were very long and oversized in the chest. It was if the shirt was mislabeled. The quality was as expected.

Nice shirt but I returned it because it was way too long. It fit ok otherwise but came down to my knees. I don't usually tuck flannel shirts in but this was too long to not tuck in and too much to tuck in.

The quality is nowhere near what they were and overpriced. I keep buying a few only because they still fit better that most of what you can easily find.

My initial thought was that it was one of the thickest flannels I have owned. However, they fabric quickly lost its softness and became strangely pilled and developed permanent wrinkles -- two unusual problems in a cotton flannel.
Mainly, though, I stopped wearing it because of the fit. A little too short to be tucked, but definitely too loose to wear untucked. It just doesn't look good compared to other flannels I own.

The flannel material is very soft but doesn't seem as high a quality as past shirts I've bought from Bean. Expected better for almost $50. Bean prices have really gotten almost too high for me to continue shopping there. And this isn't just since the pandemic.

thinner than imagined, not as warm as hoped for, starting to pill after one wash - not LLB quality as found in past shirts

Pretty heavy weight flannel. Nice colors, but the shirt is a pretty sloppy fit. Medium is larger than expected and longer than needed. Sleeves would have bean too short for me in a Small. I machined washed and dried it and it beaded (pilled?) up like crazy.

The shirt is a bit "loud" in its coloration and a bit shaggy in its material. It gives a very casual impression and is not quite right for a dressier event.

The fit is baggy and huge. Bought an XL tall, my husband's normal size. It was HUGE. Returned it for an XL regular. It is shorter but still boxy and baggy. He wears it now just for projects and yard work, which is too bad when I consider the price.

These shirts fit perfectly, but I was disappointed in the thinness of the flannel material. We have purchased flannel shirts from L. L. Bean in the past and they were nice and heavy.
