I love these shirts. I've either bought, or been given a new one each Christmas for the past 8 years as new tartans have become available. I now have enough to wear a different one to work (in a wood working shop) each day, plus a spare. I prefer the slightly muted colors, and the tougher fabric of these compared to the slightly "off", garishly bright cheaper ones I used to get at department stores. These look nice enough straight from the dryer, but if I need them to look sharp and crisp to go to Sunday meeting, or out to dinner, they respond well to a steam iron and look nice under my tweed coat, not necktie nice, but nice enough to be respectable. The oldest one is just as nice as the newest one. My only complaint is that I almost wish they were not quite so soft. Sawdust tends to stick to the soft flannel. But a quick application of the foxtail bench brush cleans them up effectively if necessary. My oldest ones are size XL and still fit fine, although my kid tends to "borrow" them. Lately I've been buying the 2XLs because I do a lot of bending, twisting, carrying, and lifting overhead and like the freedom of movement, especially around my food storage pod.

I started buying these shirts when I was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska back in the 1980s and they're still my favorite. They're warm, comfortable, fit well, and last forever. I'd probably still be wearing the same shirts I bought back in the day, but I've gained a bit of weight since leaving the military...

The Scotch plaid flannel shirt is my favorite shirt for fall and winter! I love the fabric, the color and the fit.

This is my 6th flannel purchase. Love the weight, button down collar and great quality. Will purchase more when new colors become available.

I purchased this shirt for my husband, who has long arms and wanted a flannel shirt that wouldn't shrink up when washed. Well, this shirt does shrink, but it is cut plenty generous so that it fits very well after it is washed, even multiple times. It also stays very soft and warm. After buying the first one he was so pleased that I purchased three more. He likes the various plaids and wears them nearly every day. Would definitely recommend.

True fit...main factor in this review is that this is an incredibly soft and warm shirt...as with Bean products the catalog can never fully describe how wickedly soft and warm a product is...

These shirts are as advertised. Soft fabric, comfortable fit and they keep you warm. I like them a lot.

We have a 300 acre farm and run a B&B so I spend a lot of time in jeans and flannel fall through early spring. I have shirts from a number of companies that are fine but my LL Bean shirts just seem to have something extra. They are great as received but after the first wash they are just like an old friend. Great shirts.

I purchased 3 of these plaid flannels for my husband. He loves them! They fit true to size, are comfortable, easy to launder and there is a good variety of plaids to choose from.

Was looking for something to wear around the house that wasn't a pullover, sweater or sweatshirt. Ordered a men's large and it fits comfortably over tees and turtlenecks alike.

I have been buying their flannel shirts for over 25 years. The shirts have held up great with little shrinkage and continue to feel soft. The slimmer fit fits better since I don't have a big pot belly.

I order a size up generally because I am broad shouldered, so that is part of the issue. Nevertheless the tails are so long that my wife commented that it looked like a nightshirt...

An excellent, tightly woven flannel shirt. It will not let the wind through. Fits exactly as represented.

Like this shirt needs another stellar review.. BUT, what I wanted to add from all the greatness of these shirts.. and they are great! So soft and fit perfectly regardless of pattern, cause you need more than one! My 6'8 husband - has a long torso so just wanted to include this as I think is helpful.. the XXL Tall fit him great! It's just long enough in the sleeves and body. So, if you are a tall dude and want an excellent shirt you won't want to take off, this is it! He loved it so much, I came back and ordered 3 more!

Was skeptical about the size due to other comments I read. Shirt came today and fit perfectly. Great fabric, color and workmanship. It's a pleasure to deal with LL Bean and not the clothes stores that have a clerk shaking their head, "no", when you walk through the door. Yes...they do make our size.
