I got this shirt for my husband for Christmas and he was really happy with it until he tried it on. The material is thick and very soft. The fit was the disappointment. We ordered a large which is his usual size in shirts but this fit more like an extra large. It was quite baggy and now the pattern I ordered for him is no longer available.

Comfortable fabric. Bold colors. I like that the sleeves are long enough.

It made a perfect shirt for Christmas in the Grey Stewart colors. It's nice enough to pair with some jeans for a dinner, but it maintains a level of soft, comfort.
It's a traditional fit shirt, and it's going to be a little loose. As far as length/width everything worked out nicely. The "weight" is good enough to keep you warm, but not bulky under a coat.
Comes right out of the laundry ready to wear. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Compared to other flannel shirts of the same type and size in previous orders, the shirts in the last several orders have sleeves that are significantly longer (1-2"). Arrrgh! More difficult to roll up. Did you change manufacturers??

Ordered 2 different plaids. Soft. Beautiful colors. However, one of them might have been mismarked. The hem came 3/4 down to his knees and the sleeves covered his hands. The other ran a little big and personally, I think he could wear a medium.

good quality shirts, but were way to big for my husband to wear. Sleeves were hanging over his hands. shoulders were too long and chest area was big. He has a bit of a belly so by that area it fit ok, but otherwise too big. We returned for an exchange to a large and hope that size will do the trick

I purchased three of the shirts, each in a different pattern. The shirts are very well made and comfortable to wear. They look nice and I would definitely buy more. My only complaint is that although two of the shirts fit as expected and fit well, the other must have been mislabeled or cut incorrectly. It is significantly larger than the other two and must be an XXL labeled as an XL. I double checked my order and all three were ordered exactly the same. It is still a good shirt, though...

The flannel material is very nice. The only problem was the sleeves were too long. I have purchased other shirts from LLBean in large regular and the sleeves were just right and were sized according to your chart. These, however, ordered as large regular had sleeves about 2 1/2 inches too long. I had to have them altered. All your photos on line had the models roll their sleeves up so it was impossible to tell. I went by your size chart but it was wrong.

I have always loved LL Bean flannels. My very first one was a bunch of hand me downs from my uncle and I still wear them regularly, and I am 46 now. His hand me down LL's were the perfect fit in a size XLT. His older shirt fit perfectly in the arms and how it laid -just below- the waistline. I was weary of purchasing new XLT as I know manufacturing sizings probably have changed since he bought his flannels back in the 90s if not before! My *only* complaint is that this new XLT "tall" is not the same "tall" as when he ordered his. I can totally deal with it and considered returning the shirt for the non "tall" flavor, but at this point I have worn it several times and washed it. I will know when I place my next order to go XL (not tall) and I should be good to go. I am wearing it right now and I am perfectly content with it, I just think it is too tall with how the bottom of the shirt lays on me, personally. It runs almost down to the bottom of my front pockets. I can tuck it in and no one notices it but me, but if I need to leave it untucked it seems to be too long. But I love the shirt!!!!

I like the shirt, overall. Warm, soft, good fit. However, I take a 32 in. sleeve, and the sleeves on this shirt are about 34 in. I have my cuffs completely turned up to keep the sleeve off my hands. A "short", in addition to regular, might be nice. I order all my dress shirts from LL Bean, because they still carry actual 32 in. sleeves. It would be nice to have shorter sleeves on the flannel shirts too.

I bought the men's shirt because the (lovely) women's flannel shirt I bought a couple of years ago is too short to look good with full-length pants (it's okay with crops). A friend had her husband's LL Bean flannel shirt and let me try it on - loved it, but they aren't offering it in that tartan right now, so I got this one. It fit fine for casual wear and the quality is great, but the color didn't really work so I'm returning it. Maybe LL Bean will offer tall tops for tall women sooner than later!

The item pictured is not the one I purchased. I bought the black and white plaid, which I really like. I bought the man's shirt for me, because the women's weight flannel just isn't as thick. I don't know why they do this.
It's comfortable, fits just fine when tucked into my jeans, and is nice and warm. 4 stars instead of 5 because I haven't washed it yet, have no idea what the shrinkage will be. I'll update when I can, if I have to.

I've been buying from LLB over 20 year. Love their products and easy returns (rarely). I purchased the Scotch Plaid Flannel shirt, Large/Regular. I'm a 6'0 man and the shirt is too long. Shirt tails ok because they usually get tucked in. Sleeves are the problem. The tip of the cuff rests between the first and second knuckle of my thumb, way too long. When sleeves rolled up it takes three turns to get them to a comfortable length then bulky. I almost think the shirt is mislabeled and should be a Large/Tall. Love the color and material.

Sleeves too long but just right for an Orangutan. Looking for a knuckle dragger to give as gift.

Should serve the purpose with cool weather arriving. However, when running through the washer & dryer a great deal of material (lint ?) came out. Wonder if that will effect the insulation? Those made in Portugal might be of better quality.

This shirt feels like a worn-out relic from the back of the closet, but it's new! I mean absolutely no disrespect by saying that... in fact, just the opposite. How often can you put on a new shirt and feel comfortable from the git-go?! My only reservation is that without discounts and reward points, I'd consider it pricey.

Well made shirt but it fits large. I bought a medium, I could have worn a small.

I ordered a medium, which I normally wear when ordering from L.L. Bean. This shirt swallowed me, both in the shoulders and arms length. I'm ordering a small and returning this one.

Bought the Black Watch Flannel. Always wanted this particular Scotch Plaid. The look is great and the fit is true to size. It's soft to the touch and roomy without the baggy look. It seemed warm, but it seems like it's a lighter material ? My Bean Chamois Shirts seem to be heavier. However, probably my fault , but I prefer 2 flap pockets on a flannel shirt. Secondly, after I read some reviews I became nervous as what to expect when I wash this shirt? Reason for my Title.

This shirt is warm and comfortable. Unfortunately I'm very dissapointed the plaid lines don't line up making it look like a cheap shirt. I wouldn't have opened it and worn it had I noticed it. I like to look well dressed, but this shirt won't be worn if I'm going anywhere special.

Great shirt, outstanding quality, great fit, launders perfect, no ironing required. I have bought several of these, and Bean hasn't changed anything yet. They fit me great, and I am a difficult fit.

purchased in store, brought home, found out sleeves were two inches too long. Had to return to store and replace with proper shirt,L/tall but correct sleeve length. First time I had a Bean product not fit correctly!

Though I wish this amd more other garments that bear the reliable LLBean Logo were manufactured here in the good old USA (they cost as much as new companies that do), it is a classy, comfortable, casual winter wear shirt that fits well and is (hopefully) built to last.
