Great shoe for the right price. Been wearing these since the Venture 6 edition. The toe did start to separate on one of the shoes but I feel this was just an isolated incident. Zappos customer service took care of the problem immediately and I am very happy with my purchase.

It’s nice to find a truly wide shoe. Unfortunately, it is a race between whether the fast wearing sole or the quickly wearing heel goes first. These shoes do not last very long.

I have 2 pairs of Asics Contend 6 size 15, both fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I ordered the Venture 8 because I could not find the older Contend 6 in my size anymore. They were small, wide and very uncomfortable. Disappointed, but will now have to look beyond Asics.

I really like ASICS. Bought many pair but these may have been mismarked. I have medium wide toes but these would accommodate big foot in toe box. I’ll try again later.

as alway, these shoes are great. i order 2 pair every year. the name always changes from year to year Venture 6,7,8. but the shoes are are alway just what i need.

These are very comfortable. I take an 11 4X width, and they have good room in the toebox. The GEL Venture-7's in the supposed same size were way to narrow and squeezed my toes. I don't understand how the same manufacturer (ASICS in this case) could have such seemingly poor manufacturing standards? But hey, this is the 21st century where all of society seems to be moving backwards for the sake of advancing technology... a real shame!! I miss the Good Old Days when quality actually meant something. God help us...

Size and fit both fine. As they are training shoes for running, I haven't worn them much yet. Because of their superb fit, however, I'm not worried about comfort. Surprised to find such a bargain in a name-brand running shoe. BONUS ... free shipping and arrived two days earlier than advertised during Christmas shopping season!!

I do not like leaving these reviews so you know if I do it, then something either really upset me or really impressed me. Unfortunately, this review is the former. I really do not understand why manufacturers [of anything] feel the need or desire to change something that works perfectly. In this case, whoever designed the v8 version of this shoe decided to remove the set of lace holes closest to where most people tie their laces (i.e. not the very last "heel lock" hole but the one before that). On v7 there were 7 sets of holes ... now on v8 this has been reduced to 6. A shoe that used to fit perfectly no longer does even though the dimensions of the actual shoe seem the same. The shoe constantly rubs on my heel because the shoe can not be tightened as it used to. Oh, but Asics still provides the "heel lock" hole that I previously mentioned? Yes, they do ... but they don't provide laces that are long enough to actually use it! Look, these shoes are basically disposable. A $60 pair of shoes in year 2021 is not going to last very long (and I don't expect them to). Noone should be surprised by the lower quality ... but is consistency really too much to ask for? I probably should not care about this issue as much as I do but I've been wearing these shoes for a few years now. I became accustomed to how they fit (or how they use to fit) and now that has changed. It just seems like such a waste. Did Asics really save money by punching one less set of lace holes per shoe? I won't be buying another pair so I guess I hope it was worth it to them to save that money yet lose a customer.

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

These Gel Venture 8 shoes fit great. I tried the Gel Venture 7, but had to send them back, they were terrible. I take a 11-4X wide and although they both were that, the Venture-7s were very tight in the toe box, and also not as wide all over (I didn't even really have enough shoe lace to tie them after spreading them to get them on). The Venture-8s also just feel better all around. Definitely worth the extra cost for those. I would NOT recommend the Venture-7's if you have a wide foot.

I've been running in these shoes for years, but this pair is not at all what I have gotten in the past. The soles are thin and tongue is a joke! Poorly made and a real departure from previous Asics. Very disappointed.

Size was fine, width was really narrow at the toes. Normal width shoes have always been wide enough for me but not these.

It appears medium width on New Balance sneakers are equivalent to 4E on Asics. Otherwise they are very comfortable and fit true to size

Felt small

TO date the shoe fits all my expectations.

Asics Gel Ventures are great all around, wearing them for years!
