Overall I love these shoes but I have noticed that the laces come untied. A LOT! I have a different style of Topos and don't have this issue. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this happen?

I found Topo's while thru hiking the Appalachian Trail. I don't like zero drop shoes and my toes were getting squished in other trail runners. Topo's have the right heel toe drop for me, a roomy toe box and a rock plate!

Overall, it was quite comfortable but when I walked, the instep part (where top of shoelace starts) pinged into the top of my left foot on the big toe side where I have a bunion. so figured I needed just a little more room for that foot. Had to get shoe size half size up elsewhere to compare. Sure enough, the half size up was more roomy so my left foot was now also comfortable. Love the look/style of the shoe. Plan to wear for lots of Bay Area hikes but not running.

These fit nicely but I have trouble with the bumpy sole. I stand on concrete all day and I thought a hiking shoe would be good, but I find them not that comfortable for what I need them for. I do like the Topo brand and will try another shoe, but sadly these will have to go back. But since Zappos is amazing at returns this will be no problem.

These were the shoes I kept of the three pair I ordered. I kept them because they were relatively stylish. They were tight enough in the heel to accommodate my narrow foot. And they were not so wide in the toe box as to be sloppy. They will accommodate a heavier sock if I need to. I bought them to wear in sloppy weather. I'm not sure how waterproof they will be as I haven't had a chance to try them out. But the platform of the shoe will keep me out of the slush that forms around here. And the traction of the sole gives a nice grippy feel. Overall a good shoe and fit for what I wanted.

A very nice shoe and attractive on your feet. The heel is snug and that's good for me because I have a very narrow foot. Despite that, the shoe feels comfortable and allows for a roomy toe box without feeling large. I wear an 8 athletic shoe and an 8 in this shoe was perfect. I'm not sure how waterproof the upper part is but it probably doesn't matter unless you're going through puddles. I bought them for sloppy weather wear and the tread is sticky to help out with traction. A very good shoe.

Great fit. Kind of cluncky tho, not much "bend." Probably better for muddy hiking than city walking.

These are great. I'm 5'4 and 230lbs. I use these for walking, jogging, hiking, cycling around town and weight lifting. They fit my duck feet great, no blisters on my toes for the first time ever!

Did a 12 mile hike with these. Nice to have the vibram soles which did a great job gripping. My feet felt a little more stuffed in the toes than the wider road/running topos. And I was surprised how much fine dirt from the trail made it into my shoes and permeated my socks. Wasn't expecting that.

I have 3 pairs of the original Ultraventure, and they are hands-down the best running shoes I have had in 40 years. My first pair has been retired with well over 500 miles on them. The two additional pairs have 200 & 320 miles and still look and feel almost new. I purchased a pair of Ultraventure 2 and am a little disappointed. They have less than 100 miles and the inside of the heel is already starting to rub a hole. Two friends with the same shoe (and also fans of the prior model) are seeing the same thing. Also, the toe on the new model does not have as much protection for the toes as the original, which had little rubber/plastic strips that were just enough to offer a bit more protection when catching toes on rocks or roots. The cushioning is good.

Honestly, I don't wear shoes most of the year because I live in Florida so I spend most of my time in sandals. However, I have problem feet and need a good pair of athletic shoes when we go on vacation and such and would be in need of a good, supportive shoe. My favorite athletic brand up until now starts with a "H" but they've made some changes to their most cushioned styles that don't agree with my feet anymore. I read about TOPO Athletic on a blog for people with "problem" feet. Recently, I have also been diagnosed with arthritis in my big toe so it's important for me to wear shoes with plenty of wiggle-room for my toes. So far, I really like this pair of shoes but I probably haven't had a chance to wear them long enough at this point to make a really informed recommendation.

After multiple foot surgeries and gait problems these are the best athletic shoes I have found and can rarely wear any other shoes- which is why I would love it if they made some more neutral colors to go with more outfits- please make some skin tone varieties and muted earth tones so I can pair these with ALL my outfits and not just running/athletic wear

I love the wide toe box that allows my feet to expand during long trail runs. Overall they feel great. The one problem I'm having is that they seem to expand within a few miles of running - they had loosened so much, I had to tighten them twice during a 14 mile run.

One pair for my indoor workout shoes at the gym, the second pair for outdoor walking. The most comfortable athletic shoes I've owned. Roomy are upfront for toes and good support all over!

I keep both Altra and Topo shoes in stock - I run trails on gnarly, rocky, technical mountain bike trails in Northwest Arkansas. These are stiffer than the Ultraventure - they feel like they take a little breaking in by comparison, but not as stiff out of the box as the Mountain Racer. I was excited to see the rock plate added to these, as that was my only wish for the Ultraventure which is just a gorgeously comfortable shoe. They are a very sturdy shoe, with excellent grip, and in the beginning the rock plate held up well. I wear these 1-2 times a week for 7-10 mile runs, and wear Altras other days because my feet like variety, and within maybe 3 months, the rock plate on these has degraded. I love the 5 mm drop, and the fit, and how securely they hold your foot on technical terrain, but the rock plate has not held up like my Altra Lone Peaks. I have a majority of tread left, and the shoes themselves are holding up beautifully, but I am already switching back to the Lone Peaks for many runs because their rock plate does not degrade before the tread does. So these I believe would be a phenomenal shoe for primarily dirt trail running, but be aware if you run regularly on rocks (the smaller, sharp, sole-eating rocks), that these rock plates are not yet as sturdy as some of the others in the industry.

I bought these due to online recommendations for wide toe box shoes with close to zero angle. I normally wear Altras but have been disappointed with poor wear recently. I had high hopes for these shoes. I am 72 and have rheumatoid arthritis. The ONLY shoes I can wear are wide toe box sneakers. These shoes seem to be high quality but they are HARD. Not the soft construction of Altras which allow for contractures and messed up feet. I am wearing them for dress shoes only (I know, sad). The color is beetle green and it is beautiful, but these are too stiff for work or working on the farm.

A strange fit and upper material for Topo. I own several pairs but wanted a style with firmer support and some stability. Love the vibram soles on the Ultraventure 2 which made me want to try a similar but firmer version. My normal size 8 Medium in this Pro style was tighter in the toe box area in volume and width! I had ordered a size 8.5 and am auditioning it atm. So far, more overall space but the upper material is a bit stiffer. The ride tho is quite comfy for wedge-footed me. Stay tuned!

I bought this style of Topo's for a trip to Philmont (50+mile hike) and loved them. I went to replace them and found out that the toe box is now significantly narrower (the wide toe box was the reason I bought them in the first place). Unfortunately, Topo's was purchased by a different company in December of 2022. So, me and my feet are in search of a new brand of shoe (again).

I bought these because the Topo website rated them with firm support. They fit me well (I always get 1/2 size larger), but when I took a short walk, they bent so much at the top of the shoe that it caused a lot of pain. I haven't had that problem with other "moderate support" Topos, so these must be made differently.

Toe box was tight -- toes crunching in both feet. Seems different than topos road shoes, where there is plenty of space in front.
