I am so glad I purchased these. I have had tall classic Hunter boots for years, but I've always had comic levels of difficulty removing them that I tolerated due to the cute/fashionable cachet of having Hunter boots. Now that I am pregnant and regularly upkeep my garden, I got stuck in them for 45 minutes with my husband pulling on them before finally getting them off, cracked, and with rug burns on both my feet, before deciding that I was done with them forever. We thought we'd be cutting them off! These XTRATUF boots are night and day. In comparison, these are far, far softer rubber in the whole upper portion, which allows for more of a sock/stocking feel and similarly easy removal (you can literally roll them almost all the way off). The footprint is a good fit if you order a half-size up if you're between sizes (i.e., I am a 8.5 and I got a 9 that fits great). I like that they feel more legitimate as a boot while still having the fabric interior as a design element. I have worn them with thinner pants tucked into the tops, and that works well. I didn't know who Salmon Sisters were when I bought it, I got them because of the octopi. However, it's good to feel like I supported a brand like that and I feel proud to wear them and answer when people ask about the emblem.

I have a farm and up to this point, I have mostly used cheap rain boots to muck about in. They would split, my feet would get wet, and I'd be grumpy. So I decided to spring for more expensive, and I hoped, more durable boots. I've had the Xtratuf boots for about 4 months now and they have definitely delivered! I wear them at least once a day doing tasks like walking through wet grass, woodchipping, cleaning out the chicken coop, gardening, etc. No cracks or holes yet. They are also comfortable. I wish they had more of an arch, but at least the footbed isn't flat. They can get hot in the summer, but hey, they're rubber boots, what do you expect. I love color and pattern, so I wish the octopus design was on the outside; brown isn't the most exciting. But overall, I'm very pleased with their durability so far.

Purchased for a trip to Alaska in the wet muddy fall, and couldn’t have been happier. My 80-year old father proudly wore his pair, too. I don’t know why this brand hasn’t taken over in the lower 48… clearly it is beloved by residents of this rugged state. I have worn Bogs but there is something about these that feels even more all purpose. I bought them to hike through mud and to wear on wet ferry decks, but I ended up choosing them every day for ever adventure… museums, city exploring, even the flight home. I added some inserts for extra arch support, but they just took them from comfortable to super comfortable, as they were fine without them. Yes, they come coated with a bizarre production-related goop. I put them on, stood in the bathtub wearing them, washed it off with soap, and it never returned. If that is what is required to make these boots chemical proof and waterproof, fine!

Well made, the quality is very nice, unfortunately, they were too tight at the calf so had to return them.

These are waterproof boots. Not made for walking or fashion. If you are going to be in a cold wet situation, rain, mud, fishing, mucking out horse stalls then you want these boots. If in cold environment wear warm socks.

They are just a great boot! More comfortable than I expected.

I loved the look and feel of these boots! They were lightweight and comfortable and the inside pattern made it so fun and flattering. However I had to return them as the sizing didn’t quite work. I always wear a size 7 in shoes and 7.5 in sneakers so I bought a 7 but they felt a bit too short in length. I bought them for work (I work in an elementary school and would need them for recess duty) but knew that having my toes run into the end of the shoe would not work. I bought the size 8 off another website as they didn’t have that size on Zappos and they were perfect.

I wish wish wish these would have worked for me and my bigger calves, but no such luck. They are gorgeous and amazing quality!
