Excellent for Wet or Cold weather. Especially useful fro those that wear Glasses, Keeps Sun and Rain off Glasses. Rim routes water past collar. Have 2 Now, would have 4 if OR made a Camo and All Orange Color.
Best hat I have ever owned.

The only fault I have ever found in any of my seattle sombrero's is that after 15 to 20 years they wear out. I have bought about 10 of these hats over the years and they never let me down.

I'm a landscaper and wear my Seattle Sombrero daily. My first purchase is three years old and the only reason it was replaced is that the color on the very top had begun to fade a little. The practical purposes did not fade ... best protective hat on the planet when it comes to water and sun. I've gotten several comments after only a few weeks ... sporting Miami Dolphin colors as an Oakland Raider fan ... maybe do a black and silver someday? Outdoor Research has done their researching outdoors rather than indoors.

Great hat. Keeps the sun off your head, ears and neck. Indispensable on paddle board or kayak.

I took my Seattle Sombrero on my West Coast Trail hike in the rainforests of Vancouver Island. It was awesome. It kept the rain (and the rain and then more rain) off my head and shoulders. I love it. I would buy it again!

I wear this hat while working at the race track and I can't imagine spending the day in the sun without it. The separate lining allows for an air space between the outer and inner lining so that the full intensity of the sun is kept from your scalp. The velcro size adjustability in the headband is genius. Snug it up for windy days and slack it off on the scorchers. On those unbearably hot days rinse the hat in the lake, wring out and put it on; refreshing stuff.

We were at the range this year teaching a class and I had to loan out my three Seattle Sombreros. I called customer service at OR and made sure I could order three more for other members. As always the customer service is amazing and they said I could. Everyone was so thankful to have their new hats and we can't wait for the rain or snow.

Over the last 20 years, I've had 3 OR hats. Two of them were the Seattle Sombrero and one is the Sahara Sombrero. I use the Sahara on outings, such as the zoo, vacations or anywhere it is hot and sunny. It's a great paddle hat. I can dip it in the water and cool my head off. The Sahara is very light and comfortable. As for the Seattle model, it is bullet proof. I've been backpacking when a torrential storm hit and we got soaked. My head and underneath my OR gaiters were just about the only two areas which were dry. I like to wear my green one as casual wear in cooler weather. As for my yellow/black one, it went somewhere many years ago. I'll probably find it one of these days. The Seattle is very nice looking to wear. It fits comfortably. Admittedly, I have a large head and wide face, so I don't Velcro up the sides, giving the hat more of a fedora look.

Bought this for spending the day at the race track along with my daily forest hikes with my dog. Couldn't be happier with the fit and performance of the hat. The inner lining keeps sweat from your brow and isolates the Gore-Tex fabric from contact with your scalp, making it very comfy on hot summer days.

Standing in a west coast rain storm fishing all day, and came out dry and comfortable. Large rear brim makes rain roll off the back.

I would not have bought this hat a few years ago. Things like a rain hat seemed like extra stuff to carry around that I wouldn't end up using. This year I have begun to embrace products that I never considered before. This hat has come in handy on all of my recent camping adventures. Performed great in rain and for exposure in full sun. It folds up small for packing and when my bike helmet comes off, the Sombrero goes on.
I paired this with another product I would not have purchased before, the Deluxe Spring Ring Headnet. They work great together. I even used the combo while sleeping under the stars with mosquitoes buzzing around.

Bought 2 of these hats. Excellent rain protection. We like to walk/hike rain or shine and these hats keep us dry when it decides to rain. I like the extended brim in the back that keeps the water from running down your neck. Great hat!

I am a 7and 5/8 hat size. I ordered an XL which is slightly too big, but the headband is adjustable, so it works fine
