Just got my V5s today. Had a pair of v4s which fit perfect. Wanted to get another pair of v4s but couldn't find any for sale. So far, they seem to feel the same on feet. Great as usual....Only complaint i have is that they feel a bit roomier in the toe box area than the v4's....anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I have been running in New Balance shoes over 30 years. I never had any problems with the shoes. Been using the 990 model the last 5 or 6 years.

Delivery came quick (standard model) and the shoes fit great. I appreciate being able to order width, rare for sneakers.

This is my 5th pair of 990s and they never disappoint. Very comfortable and provides stability. I walk about 3 miles a day in them and i easily get 500+ miles of use.

The comfort is great. The shoes didn't bother my heel spur. I don't care for the black color which I ordered. My shoe size is 11 1/2 D, but I take a 12 4 EEEE in these kind of shoes.

I wear my New Balance 990 V 5 shoes everyday for everything that I do. Great pair of shoes. I have been wearing the 990 series when they were 990 V 1 for many years now. The New Balance 990 V 5 is a little pricey, but they are the best pair of shoes that I have ever had. They are very comfortable and durable. I will never wear any other shoe, just New Balance shoes ONLY.

Perfect support and well made. Wish they were a bit less expensive but one of my favorite shoes.

I have had several pair of these and my most recent one was in a very attractive Ocean Blue, which is no longer offered. I guess it was a limited edition, so I was glad I snagged one. These have gotten pricier in recent years (you could do your part for the economy, New Balance!), but they are still a great shoe.

I have bought several of this same shoe because it's the only one with a 2A width. However, I find it to be a very good walking shoe.

I purchased this running show at the mid-wide size, and now it will accommodate orthodic insoles for my aging feet! Perfect fit.

Well made shoe. Other than running a half size big and not being laced up upon receiving, these were perfect.

The New Balance running shoe was recommended to me 30 years ago by a friend in a running club; I've been running with NB shoes ever since (width 4E). They are, and always have been, a long lasting, durable and comfortable running shoe.

Needed shoes that could fit my orthotics and these were recommended by the New Balance store at Downtown Summerlin. Las Vegas. Very happy with my purchase. Will purchase again.

I wore the 990v4 for a little over a year before I got my v5's. The material feels just as good of quality but there's something about the midsole now its just so much more comfortable! Also, the Orthalite insole that comes standard with the shoe makes it even more comfortable. I can stand all day in this shoe and have no problems and very little swelling in my feet. Definitely worth the price and the "Made in USA" line of New Balances never disappoint. Going to buy 2 more pair this month so I can switch out the colors.

I finally found a shoe wide enough, 6E, for my 4 inch wide foot. I did measurements to make sure I had extra spacing. Sometimes it feels too roomy when I'm casually walking but my toes have enough spacing and spread out evenly. Something the opposite of Nike runners which don't offer any width sizing. I felt relief from day one trying these shoes on. In-store, I purchased a 4E but found it wasn't wide enough when I tried them on again at home. I had to return them and buy the right size online. While I'm not accustomed to the feel of my toes being free with wiggle room, While I did try the 10.5 in-store it was just too snug on my toes. Too bad NB doesn't make a 10.75. But what a dramatic improvement in foot relief.

This shoe, Made in the USA, is the best quality I have ever worn since the 1970's when they were all made in the USA.
You will immediately be able to tell the difference in fit and feel from all the imports the second you put them on. Little to no break in required.
To dial in my fit, I inserted New Balance IPR 3030 insoles. Also the best insoles money can buy.
Without these insoles the shoe was too loose with my totally flat feet.
I you don't have flat feet you may not need the insoles.
Prior to getting the New Balance 990v5's, for more than a year I used the IPR 3030 insoles in my NF hiking shoes for an excellent fit.
Best of all the 990's come in all Black so I can wear them to the office every day if I want.
If your budget will allow--go ahead and try the 990's and see what a difference a shoe made in the USA is. No other athletic shoe manufacture makes shoes in the USA, and no other manufacturer makes as good a shoe as the 990.
One last quip: When I was in the New Balance store to try on the USA made shoes, I saw that almost every sales person had on the 990. I asked my salesman why is everyone wearing the 990--is it because it's made in the USA? He says, "No, when you are on you feet everyday up and down day after day, the 990 is the only shoe to wear."
I agree--it's like having a smooth slipper on with the performance of an athletic shoe.

I am glad there was a pair of shoes that fit my weird feet. One foot is size 10.5 and the other is size 12 and because of the width of the biggest foot, I have to get a size 13 4E. and over the years, my biggest foot got wider so the size 13 6E shoes are very helpful. And the navy blue colored shoes are nice because I like it when the letter N shows out on the shoes
