Fit was great once I got the straps adjusted to my liking. It's important with Mephisto to have your foot in the right spot with the ridges in the footbed and THEN fasten the straps accordingly. The Straps are a little stiff. Hoping they soften up like Mephisto's usually do. Haven't seen gold Birkenstocks, so hopefully, I have something really different and eye catching.

These are so glam with the metallic gold finish and brass buckles. Footbed more comfortable than Birks in my opinion. As others have mentioned, the straps are a little stiff and rub my toes. Going to wear around the house a few days to see if this improves. With known Mephisto quality, I'm expecting to love them!

I own a lot of Mephisto sandals. Mephisto sizing can be all over the place but these fit fine. I wear a 9 1/2 and a size 40 was perfect. These sandals were very uncomfortable. The straps rubbed my feet and I couldn't wear them long enough to break them in. Really cute sandals. Wish they had worked out. I guess I'll try Birkenstock because the style is similar. Oh, and as the last reviewer mentioned, they do squeak a little but it didn't bother me.

I really like the color and they are just slightly rough on the pinkie toes. Nonetheless, these squeak very loudly when walking no matter the surface, tile, wood or carpet. I have 10 other pairs of mephisto sandals and none of them squeak new or old.

The vandal straps are much thicker than they used to be, so it was difficult to get feet to slide in - and they would not. These sandals are more like old Birkenstocks than mephistos. I wanted simple leather, but these are all sparkly and gold (and not what I want in sandals). The narrow strapped mephistos seem to have disappeared.
