I’ve owned about 10 different pairs of Lowa boots over the last 30 years and I’ve never been disappointed in any of them. I still have a couple of heavy duty models that are almost 20 years old that I sent back to Lowa to get resoled. These Taurus boots are pretty much like the Renegade model except they're made with heavy duty textile material instead of leather. This makes them a bit lighter and more breathable than the Renegade. They are very solidly constructed, durable and very lightweight. A great pair of trustworthy boots for my next adventure which will be in Iceland.

Like my other Lowa's, this pair felt like I had them custom made for me when I first put them on. You can just feel the quality and care that was given to their materials selection and production. I wore Vasque for many years, but Lowa has done them one better.

The shoe fits me well.

These provided very good ankle support but not enough cushioning or arch support for me. Surprisingly I found the toe box a bit small. These are nice boots but don't work for me. For comparison, I also tired Salomon Quest 4s, Scarpa Boreas, and La Sportiva Ultra Raptor Mids. The Salomons are highly structured in that they fit more like a ski boot (no surprise I guess). They have good cushioning and provide lots of support but this comes at the cost of restricting foot motion. Ironically, they did not provide much support for my ankles which is critical for me. The Scarpas fall somewhere in between the Salomons and Lowas in terms of cushioning and support. The Raptors were too small for me but I intend to get then in a larger size because these may the perfect fit for me with good cushioning and support.

I thought size 12 would work given many of the athletic shoes I wear are that size but they are too big. Excellent quality and a good look but I need to return them.

Felt narrow to the fit. Flat without enough arch support, and no cushion comfort. The build quality appeared solid, with some flex when walking.

Nice boots but half size too large even though I usually wear the size I ordered. I’ll try again.
