Have probably 20 pair of Vans. This one has an elastic strap connected to the tongue. It’s rolls when putting your foot in shoe creating a very uncomfortable crease inside you cannot reach to fix, and places a TON of unnecessary pressure across your foot. Artificially makes it feel tight. My left foot feels like it’s falling asleep after 2 minutes.
Vans - PLEASE do not ruin other shoes with this design!!

These new Vans are terrible. The new tongue latch stuff is pure awful. It grips your foot in the wrong place. This causes the socks to be pulled into the shoe, because it is gripping on the mid of the foot rather than the heel. Each step drags on the heel.
I've worn Vans for some 20 years. These are awful. Why they cannot just add the replaceable insole and not this tongue tie garbage, I do not know.
Plus most of the holes in the suede part were not punched all the way through. So, one needs to jam the laces through multiple times from both sides to create a hole.
I loved Vans for decades, but I need better insoles these days. New insoles for Vans, yay. Destroying everything else that made Vans good, bleah. I'm not sure if these are made in the same place the old ones were made, but these news ones are garbage. Those springy parts hanging on the tongue are one of the worst ideas in shoe design.

I love vans, but they changed the design and i hate them. The leather around the ankle colar doesnt allow the shoe to breathe, the tounge is too tight too

I wear the black on black pair while working 12's for a big city police department and they have yet to fail me. They keep my knees and back happy while still being light and easy to move dynamically in. Bonus points for people having to do double takes to realize a cop is rocking Vans

These are hands down better than any shoe I've ever worn. They're extremely well built and fit great. The PopCush insole is now a must have for me. I don't skate but all of the improvements from the normal Sk8-Hi make this a great shoe in general. I've already recommended the Skate line to many friends who asked about Vans and will definitely continue to do so.

Let me be clear, I didn't need these, but I wanted them. They showed up with a discounted price and they have been in my favorites for quite a while... so I decided to treat myself plus I just started longboarding, so I figured these can be my SKATE shoe and not tear up the rest of my vans hi tops. I love them!

I have several vans old school and skate old school low tops but these skate old school high tops are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had that extra layer of cushion and tread and the general sturdier feel of the skate versions are very welcome even just for everyday wear.

The SK8-Hi shoe is a great skate shoe especially with the pop cush insole. I skate to work everyday its not raining and these shoe do the trick. They are fashionable and provide the board feel I need. I prefer to skate vert and having the Achilles protection is mandatory to protect against shark bite. While they tend to tear up pretty quick due to the concrete pools I skate, at this price it is a no brainer. Go ahead and get a pair, you won't regret it.

I am a huge fan and lover of vans have probably close to 25 pairs. But due to VANS using FED EX as their carrier, and multiple issues, I won't order again directly from Vans ever again, not unless they change their delivery carrier. As there are far superior carriers out there that still remember that without the people they deliver for they would have no business.
