I own many pairs of vans and these seem cheaply made

I love the Daniel Johnston drawings, but the rim around the top (the "collar") of the shoe is large and it immediately gave me a blister on the back of my heel. Very disappointed.

It seems that vans has changed design or manufacturing and the new Skate model is too tight. I've got average to narrow feet. Can you bring back the Pro version??

I've been wearing slip ons since I was 10 years old in '82. I really appreciate the new insoles that make them a lot more comfortable. I've had a couple pairs of black suede over the last few years that were a little tight at first, but they worked in the long run after break in. The last two pairs I've ordered (including these Daniel Johnston's I got today) cause too much pain to even try to break them in. I really hope that Vans updates the construction of the shoe to have more cloth/suede across the top of the foot where the elastic is or else I don't think I'll be able to wear slip ons anymore.

Was super excited to get them for only one to fit my foot. Both shoes were the size I ordered but one shoe was way too tight. So tight I couldn't even get it on my foot. You could tell it was more narrow than it's other shoe too. Very disappointed.

This is by far, the worst pair of vans shoes I've ever owned. Vans changed their sizing. Mens 11 is built for someone with a tiny and narrow foot. :(

I have owned Vans since the mid-80's and slip-ons have been my go to. When I purchased this pair they were too narrow and ran smaller. Disappointed.

Couldn't get the new kind on my foot. I've been wearing this style for donkey's years with no problem. Not sure what they did, but now it's so narrow, I can't even try them on. Shame too. But with the way the prices have hiked because they became so trendy, it's fine.

The fit is terrible. Way too tight compared to the older skate/pro slip ons. Steer clear of these unless you're willing to order a size and a half up.

I have been skating vans for over almost 30 years. But The last 2 pairs have had sizing issues. I am not sure what happened to quality control. But the pair I ordered on here I had to return to the store one shoe was at least 1 size smaller then the other. I traded them in for a pair of chukka lows and they are bearable but one is definitely not as wide as the other. The pair I had before this fit well but the sole started falling out. It is sad . They are not the shoes they used to be. I hope they get things under control in there factories.

Preface: 90% of the shoes i have worn in the past 10 years have been size 9, old skools and slip-ons. These simply don't fit. It's as if the upper is 1/2 an inch too small, height-wise. they are SUPER tight and nearly unwearable. I can't wear them with a standard sock (stance) so I just don't wear them. I kept thinking they would "stretch" even though i know a Pro model should be good to wear out of the box.

This is my first shoe with VANS and unfortunately, it's a bitter experience with this pair. The fit is too clumsy and tight and it's always impossible to get fitter into the shoe. Almost hurted badly my left index finger while trying to fit'em. And the wrost part is its hurting my ankles very badly and these are the most discomfortable shoes I've ever tried.

I've worn this exact pair of black suede skate slip ons for YEARS. Always worn a 10.5, always fit perfect. Went and got a new pair at the Vans store the other day and they are almost impossible to get on my feet, and seriously painful to wear. The top has zero stretch, even after stuffing them and leaving them for 24 hours. You guys had something good going and you switched to an inferior product for no discernible reason whatsoever, as well as charging more for them. I'll be returning these and likely won't be buying from Vans ever again.

Pictures in the description are extremely misleading. In reality, the sole is completely shiny. Whoever signed off on this design change needs to consider a change of careers.

These are black not the dark grey that they appear in the photo. if it's black, call it black. using 'raven' to refer to the color and then the inaccurate photo is misleading.

Great shoe and design. The right shoe was not the same size as the left. Too tight on top. Had to return shoes. Vans return process is from the 1980s. Slow and very innefficient. I should have just called customer service, but too many circles Vans.

The fit on these are so strange. The opening was too small, but the shoe itself was too long. I have narrow feet and couldn't get them in comfortably. I didn't even take the other shoe out. Just put it right back in the box and returned them.

I really wanted to love this shoe. I've owned classic slip ons in the past. The redesigned skate version has a stiff collar that rubs my achilles to the point where I have bled a few times. Wearing with socks helps a little bit. Wearing the shoe barefoot is dangerous. Recently brought my pair of slip ons to the beach. My walk from the parking lot to the beach left me limping with bleeding achilles on both feet. I love vans. I love my half cabs, old schools, skate highs. The skate version of the slip on is painful to wear in everyday life. I couldn't even imagine skating in these. I don't normally write a review if it will be bad, however I want to provide a constructive critique as a lifelong skateboarder. I want the shoe to be comfortable.

Not comfortable as the pop cush liners do nothing for cushioning, especially forward of the arch. The nice padding around the heel area from the pro is gone too. Also the material around the heel area changed and I am getting blisters from it rubbing through fairly thick socks.

At 42, I can remeber when there was a time there were stand-alone vans stores. Some old stool dude who made a living slinging canvas and leather to all the locals. While I tend to wear half cabs and highs, I thought I'd go for a childhood favorite. When I saw that the skate model with the popcush was an offering, it was a no-brainer. Turns out, the no brainer is the kook who let this style go into production. Look everything is great and it's stayed true to its classic style but how did we never redesign the heel? It is rubbing me raw on the heel and I'm literally bleeding out on my new kicks. The seam comes all the way up to the top and it causes this rigid notch that cuts into my heel. For like $60 or $70 bones, this is not acceptable. One star because a company this big shouldn't be making these kind of design errors.

Wore these for about four days and my feet are killing me. My feet are raw in places I didn't even know existed. Stick with the Classics.
