Laces are bungee and stitched at the very top but nowhere else, so it's possible to replace with real laces if you want.

I purchased the wide for my daughter, who doesn't have a wide foot at all, because only wide was available. My fault entirely, the wide is actually wayyy wide. So this is a perfect shoe for kiddos with wide feet. We found it directly from New Balance in the regular and it's a huge noticeable difference even from the outside appearance of the shoe. My daughter laughed the shoe was so floppy on her, so moral of the story, wide won't work unless you truly have a wide foot ? I was worried these wouldn't stay on with running/gym because they don't tighten in any way, but no, they do a great job of staying on. My daughter loves the colors and says they are super comfortable and fast! I LOVE that there is no white on these so they are super easy to clean and keep clean! I do think, in terms of sizes that these run true to size for New Balance sizing.

The colors are beautiful. Looks exactly as shown online. And the fit is true to size. My daughter just loves them. She wears it everyday to school so you know they're comfortable. And the best part there are no strings to tie!

The fit and look of the shoe is great! She loves them! She is 10 years old with small feet so we have a hard time finding her shoes that aren’t all pink and glittery. These are stylish enough that they didn’t feel too “princess-y”.

I love these shoes for my kiddo. They are light and flexible, no annoying laces. Second pair to size up after a year. My kiddo doesn't like shoes that go high up the Achilles area, and these seem to work.

Super cute my kids loves them. The style and bright colors are so fun. They are a bit challenging to pull on at first. But she is getting the hang of it. Love Zappos support as always!

I have a 6 year old, who told me that he was too big for Velcro shoes. But... Still can't tie shoes either. So these are a great compromise. I got the camo ones. He reports that it's like walking in clouds.

So my 5year old daughter wanted Minnie Mouse sneakers,until she layed her eyes on the PlayGruv New Balance sneakers I loved and purchased.She was so ecstatic when she saw them she said she loved the Groovy colors and she feels like a superstar when she wears them,they feel great on her feet, comfortable and soft. Well I'm her biggest fan and I totally agree with her. She is my little superstar.

Cute and comfortable. My daughter loves them. I have a hard time finding wide shoes for her that are still cute. The only negative so far is that the darker blue coloring on the front of the shoe is already wearing off after just a week of wear.
