Customer Reviews New Balance Kids Playgruv (Little Kid)

Bought these for my 6 year old and she loves them. Colors are fun and vibrant but the soft grey helps keeps it in check for school. We ordered size 13, though her shoe size is closer to a 12.5 in other brands. Size 13 fits great. I would say these shoes run TTS or maybe just a tad small. Ordering 1/2 a size up from her true size fit her but with some room to grow. One point of feedback is that the material at the top of the foot where the laces would tie (if these had laces) has frayed after only a couple weeks of wear. There are short strings and a fuzzy effect. Not sure what caused this; my daughter wears cotton leggings and hasn't had these shoes close to any Velcro, etc. Makes me slightly concerned about the durability of the material but with kids it's hard to say; could just be from turf on the playground. Overall great shoe and would definitely buy again.

I would really like to give this review 4 1/2 stars, but that's not an option. This is the second pair that I have bought for my son of the playgruv. They are great shoes in the way that they don't have super long shoelaces to get tangled up with. The only downfall is the elastic shoelaces stretch out, so towards the end of the shoe life, it's hard to keep them on your child's feet. Pretty much every move he made, especially if it involves a twist, they were office feet. But they fit well and they are comfortable, even after the elastic stretches, so that's why I bought him another pair!

Daughter is picky so it's probably just her but the shoe laces are so thick she could feel them through her socks and said it didn't feel good. She wouldn't even try to wear them. I exchanged them for an awesome pair she does love.

Not true to size. Definitely run big

That's the only positive thing about these shoes, New Balance isn't the quality shoe it once was, a month of normal wear and the shoes look old, wearing on the bottom so they won't be safe for my daughter anymore. There's competition that's makes better shoes, I'll probably buy from those companies next time.
