A close friend who with a delightful touch of vanity learned about an ailment I have with my toe, while painful merely because the box of my shoes irritated the toe *with* the dressing. My friend, lifted her Ecco sandal, said "You have to buy these." You can't feel cobblestones on old streets. I zapped online, bought a pair. OMG! She was right. I wanted to cover the dressing while I wore the sandal. Gray ankle socks made the handle look almost like a shoe. Socks shielded the dressing from street-level dust. People have admired them!!! Amazing. It blends into the "shoe world" and "sandal world" not the everyday sock pushing up almost a foot above a sandal! Yike! Comfort? a 10. This comes from a flip-flop die-hard. Much more secure, which is a big selling point; however; yes I do like flip flops, now on leave of duty, but with full housing benefits.

I have worn these every day since I got them. Comfortable and sturdy with lots of adjustable straps.

Foot beds are not as comfortable as the Off-road. But overall a nice sandal. Had yo return this pair for a smaller size in a different color. This was not available in the brown color. I’m hoping to break them in and like them better.

These shoes are very comfortable but very squeaky. I kept thinking the squeak would go away some after they were worn but that hasn't been the case.

It runs small with toes sticking out

I was very disappointed in how the quality of the sandals has gone down since my previous purchase of the same model several years ago. The materials are certainly not of the same quality; the previous leather was thicker and marked YAK. The stitching was not as precise and profuse, and the construction design had deteriorated. The back strap was formerly hinged giving flexibility to fit; the current design is fixed by stitching, offering no flexibility at all. Service including returns by Zappos was excellent., as always. No complaints there!

I ordered a size down (43 instead of 44) because I know how sloppy my other Ecco sandals were. These were a good size but 2 issues make these unwearable for me. 1. They stitch through the lycra/wet suit stuff of the lower toe bands from the velcro. This means the 'padding' is no longer padding and the stitching has rubbed my middle toe raw. 2. The tongues of the upper straps are too long and they overlap or curl under which is annoying and uncomfortable. Very disappointed in the needless design flaws of these sandals. Next time wear your damn sandals before selling them to us! :(
