In the customer question it said that the insole is removable for orthotics. Disappointingly, the insole is not removable. I will have to return the shoes, which run small.

No arch support but that is what I want! I am looking for some old school Merrel or New Balance sneakers with minimal padding. To all forty something's when you foot starts to hurt, don't go to a more cushiony shoes. That only makes the muscles in your foot weaker. Walk around your house barefoot as much as possible. Maybe you start for a half hour every and then gradually increase. This NB shoe is oddly very tight and narrow around the arch and mid foot.
I'd also recommend:
Merrel, Xero

These shoes are ok - they fit ok - but they are a bit snug over my arch with no ability to adjust. I REALLY LOVED THE TRAIL MINIMIST I have worn the past 5-6 years but it appears the style has changed to a more hefty design? Sooooo sad!!!!

Size up! I usually wear an 8.5. My toes were touching the end. Can’t say whether a 1/2 size up is even enough without trying it and can’t comment on comfort or function.

Way too small and tight. I wear a women’s 9.5 wide and I couldn’t even get my foot into the shoe. Narrow and tight.

Super disappointed in these. I had a pair before and they were the best, but these new ones have become so low volume that I can't wear socks with them. Once I size up, they become way to big length wise, but still very narrow around the arch of the foot.

These may appeal to some but were too minimalist for me. The toe box is designed for comfort, and fits your foot, but makes you look very pigeon-toed. Back they go.

I was really excited when I saw this shoe. I liked that it had minimal lift and a wider toe box. When I tried the shoe on, I could barely fit my foot inside. The tongue is attached to the sides of the shoe making the fit very very narrow. I returned them for a refund.

This shoes sizes about .5 to 1 size to small. This is the first new balance minimalist shoe that I have owned with this problem. When I try to size up it ends up being slightly too big/wide for my foot.

I am a size 9 in almost every other pair of new balance I have ever owned. These run at least a size too small or size and a half maybe.

I could barely get my foot into the shoe. Have high arches and the tongue of the shoe is only free about have way down making very hard to get food into and very uncomfortable once on. New Balance seems to be doing a lot of this, shorter opening in which to open shoe. Overall extremely uncomfortable and the material and laces they are using is stiff and rough. Overall a very unwelcoming shoe to put on or to wear.

Normally a size 9, I ordered the 9.5 and it was super tight on the outside of the foot. Was afraid that a size bigger would add length but not correct the weird tightness issue. Not the wide toe box that I was expecting. Disappointed with New Balance. Again.

Have worn New Balance Minimus 10v1's for years and loved them but these just don't cut it. Labeled as women's wide but so narrow I could barely fit my foot in the top even with laces completely removed. Very smooth soles also don't seem grippy enough for trails.

Wish I would’ve listened to the reviews. I ordered 7.5 wide. I have the same size in other new balance shoes. These were so small. I couldn’t even get my toes in the shoe. Was really hoping they’d work for my workouts. Looks like I’ll go back to my saucony bullets

Really liked the flexibility of the sides and back but the arch was so constricted and low that I couldn't even get them on.

I always buy New Balance - always the same size because I know it fits me. However, these were SO narrow (7B). The tongue of the shoe is attached so I think this adds to the narrow fit.

Warning: much smaller/narrower toe-box than you expect (even with Wide) based on previous New Balance Minimus models (i.e., 10v1). A size 12 in 10v1 is probably a 13 for the Minimus TR.
