I wore the shoes for a total of about 5 min around my house, and my husband and I couldn't stop laughing. The soles of the shoes squeaked so badly that it almost seemed like a practical joke. The squeaked on tile, hardwood floors, and even our (low pile) area rugs. The squeaking even drowned out our laughter. I tried to read other reviews to see if others had similar experiences but didn't learn a lot. I found a couple of people asking similar questions, but no one could tell me if I could confidently keep the shoes, ultimately wearing down the soles enough to banish the squeak. So, the shoes went back. (Thank you to Zappos for their truly amazing return process!) For the brief time I had the shoes, I liked the look and quality. Not surprising with Clarks. I'm a female buying a men's shoe, so I sized down 1.5 sizes (women's size 9.5M to men's 8M), as most conversion charts recommend. It worked great for this shoe.

I love this shoe! I bought it for me - I'm female - after being so frustrated with the women's version of this shoe. The insole is removable should you wish to add an insert. I was anticipating doing so but this shoe feels a bit like walking in Birkenstocks in that my toes have complete freedom to move. I go for hours without thinking about me feet because they don't hurt! Quality shoe that appears very well made too.

Perfect shoes. They look a little elvish when you look at them from the top, but other than that I love how they just narrowly avoid the preppy look.

I bought then for myself. I am a woman and I usually wear a size 7 in men's shoes. Unfortunately these were too big for me. I have to return them.

I have another pair of these that I have had for years and love them. I purchased this pair to wear to work and they are just as comfortable as my old pair. They wear well and I am hoping the new purchase will as well.

These are by far the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. The outsole feels very sturdy and long lasting, but feels so soft when on my feet that the shoes feel like slippers. The insole is not the highest quality, has little arch support, and will probably wear out over a year of wear, but they are replaceable. With my OBOZ insoles the shoes feel even better with more support, but still soft and cushiony. The leather upper feels nice and is soft and flexible with still good thickness. Nothing else in my closet comes close to the level of comfort of these shoes.

Comfortable. Looks great from most angles, but the sharp inward curve of the toe just comes across as way too “cute little elf” on me, a large man not particularly going for cute little elf. Sent them back.

Fits perfect and true to size. Very comfortable on bottoms. The achilles area is a little rough and will hopefully break in with some time. These feel like I'm barely wearing anything they fit so perfect. The enclosure is very tight with the weird short lace system(only 2 loops). I thought these would be a "hot" shoe but they are actually very cool.

Excellent and the price is right. No reason not to pull the trigger on these. Just because you don’t have the gum soles on the originals doesn’t make this less of a successful purchase.

Have not owned a pair of these since 1979! Good news is they are still great. Comfortable, well made, nice thick materials. True to size. Should have gotten back into a pair of these a long time ago!

I got a size up but I should have got 2 sizes up because I wear socks alot. It’s really trueeee to size. Even with a size up its close. I hve worn it dully yet but I love it.

I love these shoes; this is my 4th pair this year! I may purchase another this Summer. Thanks Zappos for making this product available for me. I wear a size 10 which was sold out and then it was back in stock about a week and a half later. The pricing was also great; I couldn't ask for anything more.

everything was great on the shoe, but it just didn't look right on my big feet. It was mostly the look, is why i returned them. Thanks
