Really liked this boot. Very lightweight and comfortable for my foot. It’s a real head scratcher why Lowa doesn’t put speed laces on this boot though. I prefer an 8 inch boot, but taller boots need speed laces. That and the fact that the price just seems a little high for this particular boot led me to return it.

I'm conflicted about these boots, but have decided to keep them and try them out. I previously ordered a boot from Meindl at the same price point which was a beautifully made boot, but had to return it because of an incredibly stiff sole. By comparison these Lowa's at the same price point are not as well made, but simply "OK". Pros: They are very lightweight (3lbs per pair). Cons: The inserts have no arch support, and feel harsh. I hope with break in the boot will feel better, but I may be forced into a custom insert. They do _NOT_ have speed laces. I have no idea why you would build an 8" boot without speed laces. Bottom line: This boot has some obvious shortcomings, and I can't imagine why Lowa wouldn't have changed it after some simple testing, but I'm tired of shopping trips, and returning other boots. Hopefully these hold up.

the boots are perfect for early winter hiking

The third time was a charm! My husband has worn a size 10 or 10 1/2 for years. In his original order he order 10 1/2 and they were too small. We returned them in exchange for an 11 and they were too small. Those were also returned and exchanged, but this time for a size 12! Finally they fit! Customer service was wonderful and courteous each time. We'll be happy to deal with Zappos again!

Fingers (and toes) crossed this one will work as he's been told these are really nice boots. He can't comment on the width or support yet because he hasn't been able to get a good enough fit for size!!

This package must of been hacked or something because the rite boots weren't in it.
