Pretty much all you could ask for the money. Pockets could be less awkward.

Good but what would make it amazing is
1. I'm 5'1 and even the XS is not quite small enough. I have the straps at the tightest and it's still a little loose
2. Wish the water bottle side pockets were stretchier
Overall I like the all black, but those are a few things that would make it better

I must give credit where credit is due! Upon reading my review that entails missing zipper pulls and difficulty reaching customer service, a rep reached out to me. I will be receiving the missing zipper pulls and a gift card for the hassles. Mistakes happen, but how those mistakes are handled speaks volumes about a company. I just wish the service of sending me the pulls happened before I needed to write such a review. :)

Hiked the Superior Trail. Plenty of space. Not overly complicated. Good quality material. All the spots that are supposed to hold do a marvelous job too marvelous sometimes. Slips a bit and needs to be readjusted a little too often. Would have liked for one of the quick pouches to be waterproof. Really difficult to get to the water bottle when stored in the holders.

I bought this pack and wanted to love it, but unfortunately the fit wasn't right for me. I thought the pack itself was well thought out and very well designed. It is definitely tough as nails. I tried everything to make it comfortable for me, but I could never get it dialed in. I end up trading a fellow hiker friend of mine this pack for an Osprey Aether. We still hike a lot together and he loves it. He's put it through the ringer and it's still holding up great after 2 years. I would definitely recommend any one trying it out! Some packs just don't fit some folks.

North Face online was out of stock for the women's version of this backpack, and the men's small is too long for my pretty typical 5'5" body. I had a previous version of the Terra and it was the best bag I'd ever owned until it started shedding it's waterproofing on everything inside it. This bag has some 'upgrades' like a removable brain (not easy to remove and therefore kinda dumb) and shoe protective flap thingy (snags on everything and is constantly in the way), but it sorely lacks some key features such as a zipping front pocket and good loops for carabiners. I had to clip my water bottle to the existing loops and it hit me in the face twice. Not nice. Also, the side pockets are awful (both too big and too narrow and too loose). Finally, they have increased the price several times on this bag and now it ranks with bags of a much higher price.

THIS BACKPACK HAS AN INTERNAL SCREW SCREWED INWARDS AND IT HARMS WHATEVER IS IN ITS WAY. AND THE SCREW IS LOCATED IN THE MID PART OF THE BACK, RIGHT AT THE TABLET/PORTABLE COMPUTER POUCH! HORRENDOUS DESIGN! I AM RETURNING THIS USELESS BACKPACK ASAP!
