I have run on saucony for over 20 years and I am on my third pair of hurricanes. Saucony stopped making the stability shoe I used to run on and replaced it with the hurricane. It is not nearly as comfortable-knee and shins can get sore until I break them in and they wear out quickly. But I am loyal and keep thinking it will be better "next time".

Nice looking shoe but being flat footed there is not enough support. My ankle inner ankle is very sore after wearing them. My favorite is Triumph 11

"Your mileage may vary" with your Hurricane 23 experience, but I've found this model of Hurricane to be a disappointment on several fronts. I have a AA foot and never expected that the bones in my forefeet would be scrunched together width-wise. There was a time in my life when I would tolerate that for a dress-up occasion, but never for pounding the pavement in a running shoe. The all-important cushioning and support (solidity of base) are there, but feel strangely wooden. I don't want to feel the road but don't want to feel like I'm wearing clogs, either. The sole surfaces are too smooth for a street/sidewalk shoe; beware walking on wet pavement or especially stone/concrete steps and don't even try a detour during your run or walk on unpaved, uneven paths! Rocky going, pun intended. Let me add that for years I LOVED wearing the Hurricane ISO models -- such support, comfort; superior shoes all 'round. Then came the sock uppers and 3D-printed uppers... the innards were "improved" to their detriment... so I switched to Brooks, Mizuno (outstanding shoe, but offset is super high), Asics, New Balance. This year felt hopeful (and desperate LOL) so decided to give the Hurricane 23 a try. Sorry I did, especially considering the cost. (Zappo's 30-day buy and try for this model of shoe was/is a superb offering but I didn't get to wear them enough within the period to draw my conclusions.) So -- sigh -- I will keep looking.

The toe box was very narrow. I suffer from neuropathy and the tight fit caused a lot of foot pain.
I'd also recommend:

Oh how I wanted to like this shoe because of the fit and support, but just could not. Much like another reviewer, the big toe on my left foot rubbed this odd plastic liner at the front of the shoe. This happened just walking around my house and did not seem like an issue that would resolve, only get worse. Plus there was a caved in spot on this stiff liner. For the price, there should be no pain!

All I buy are Saucony tennis shoes but this one had really bad heel slippage for me. I do have wider feet but normally can wear standard widths. It just felt like my foot was just too “tall” as the laces were barely long enough to tie which probably contributed to the heel issue.

I bought these a couple of months ago to replace a pair that I purchased two years ago. Toe box is not as wide and just not the same comfort level as the old ones. Disappointed

When they advertise it as PLUSH I laugh. I have bought this brand and style for almost five years. They have made more uncomfortable with every new edition. There is so little support and cushioning it's sad. It seems cheaply made and the colors are not great. I won't be buying the next edition, that's for sure!

I bought this shoe since it was a Hurricane. They are nothing like the Hurricanes I have previously purchased with great soft cushioning and wonderful support. These shoes are much stiffer. I'll be returning them. Very disappointed.

I've worn Saucony for 30 years as my favorite shoe. However, the quality is nothing what it use to be. These felt cheaply made and no where near as durable as they should for the price. No support or comfort.

This is the fourth pair of Hurricane 23 I owned and they are not the same as the previous 3. The shoestrings are too short if you use the extra holes and cross your shoestrings for a tighter heel fit. AND, the toe box must be smaller as my toes now hurt on runs longer than 6-7 miles. Notice, the toe box gap and long shoe strings on the pink pair and short shoe strings and NO toe gap on the gray pair in pictures. HIGHLY disappointed Saucony. I will be looking elsewhere for my next pair.

Second pair purchased. Holes developed in the top of the shoe after 2 months of use. Basic walking and casual tennis play. Will be looking at another brand. The size is correct and was fitted by a shoe store/ running specialist. Other brands last about a year.

I loved these shoes so much, they were just perfect until I got them wet. Some material inside the toes wrinkled itself up into big hard ridges as the shoes dried out. So thats the reason my toes hurt so much. There's lots of bumpy shoe material inside the toes now. No room for my toes! These shoes are almost new, they were shockingly expensive (but they fit me very well so I loved them anyway) and suddenly a very normal everyday type of wear experience of getting the toes of these shoes just slightly wet means that I can't even wear them anymore! The better Saucony shoe is one with a rubber bumper around the toe so it will keep its shape if it gets wet.

I was so excited about this shoe! Alas, it has disappointed me. There's a hard band of plastic around the toebox, and the repeated friction between the outside of my big toes and that plastic led to multiple blisters (on one foot's big toe) and damaged skin (on both big toes) after several bouts of extended wear (e.g., 90 - 120 minutes of hard walking) and some daily wear. (BTW, I do wear Thorlo socks -- so, I was wearing good socks for the use.) My podiatrist figured out that the plastic around the toe box was what was causing the damage, and wondered why Saucony had adopted this design: he thinks that the plastic is an obvious point of friction for many users, even when the shoe fits correctly by any current standards. I am reviewing the shoe because I want to caution those who might consider them. The shoes were very comfortable when I first tried them out and in my initial use. I had (what I believed to be) lots of room in the toe box: I could wriggle my toes; I could let my toes spread out as my foot made contact with the ground. I didn't feel any tightness. I thought they were going to be perfect! So, the problem didn't show up until I had spent some serious time in them. So, in your early days with them, really focus on whether there's friction in this area as you run/walk. Really focus. If there is, I suggest returning them and looking for another design.

I ordered these based on the great reviews and I am extremely disappointed. I am not in the habit of returning shoes or sneakers that I have worn but I am going to have to make an exception. Saucony is historically a quality shoe but I am not sure what happened here. The footbed is like concrete and is flat with no arch support. Additionally, working out in them working out in them gave me blisters and made my toes and upper arch numb. Given the price I tried to make them work for me but to no avail. If you have a high arch or wide feet you may want to give these a pass.
