I am on my 4th Guide. Love the shoes. Main problem is the easy wear/tear inner aspect at the ankle. Seems to be their weak spot. My most recent purchase (Guide 14) started wearing down within 2 weeks.

Wearing a size 16 my options are limited. I wore Saucs growing up and always liked them. Nike's have been nothing but a disappointment lately. To date I like these shoes. Very comfortable and appear to be constructed well. I would prefer a wider footprint and more stability in ankle, shoes cause my foot to roll in.

It took me about 50 km for this shoe to soften up a bit, at the beginning I found it way too stiff. I'm not used to the medial post (it is not very noticeable, though) and the 8mm drop felt more intrusive than I thought. But I kept running on it and I'm gradually adjusting to the shoe, or the other way round, I don't know. At the end of the run my feet and ankles are now less aching. My only regret is that my retailer didn't have the wide size, with the regular I'm experiencing some trouble at the edge of the feet, hope this is going away too. Very good shoe and I'm keen to rate it excellent if the feel keeps improving!

Great evolution of a reliable stability shoe. Thank you for bringing the round laces back. Wish the colors were better.

I really like the new Guide 14. They feel light and comfortable, with just a little bit of support, and seem to propel me forward! The Guide 13, for some reason was too small and narrow in the forefoot in my usual Saucony size 8, but this one fits great!

I am a Guide loyalist- and I firmly believe they nailed this shoe. It is leaps and bounds better than last year's model. I'm not sure why last year's felt off... perhaps it was just a little firm and felt very snug and clunky. This shoe- fast and light for a stability shoe!!! Can't stress it enough. Very solid shoe. I just wish Saucony would move some of the design guys and gals from the other shoes to the Guide line. The colors this year are disappointing and honestly almost made me buy a competitor's shoe. Color and fashion aren't everything but I like to feel good and look good when I run!

I've put in just over 100 miles on these the guide 14s and felt the support and stability. At around the second to third week i started feeling the lack of cushioning at the mid foot and almost had to stop mid run, especially doing hill running. Tried buying insoles but made no difference.

These shoes are comfortable and look great, but they have two major issues: the heel doesn't grab your foot very well and the mesh is not really breathable.

They're a pretty great, stable, supportive shoe. To be honest, I don't feel like my heel has been "locked in" to it and have dealt with a slight discomfort in my Achilles. I will try different knots, socks, and tightness of laces. But other than the heel support and laces, I am a happy customer that will log 400+ miles on them.

These are beautiful shoes, and indeed they do provide support for my fallen arch. However, they pinch my heels. The very first time I tried them on, the back caved down into the left shoe so that it chafes my ankle. I have tried repeatedly to make it pop out and up again -- to no avail. Two months or so later, this happened with the heel on the right shoe. Sizing otherwise fits, and Guide 14 is wearable, but fewer than 3 months into owning them the overall picture is very unsatisfactory. Maybe the heel caving would matter less IF there was a loop on the back to help ease on/off. But there isn't. Simply getting into them amounts to a struggle.

My first impressions were good with these shoes. They felt light and supportive, they feel well put together, and they feel firm (which at first didn't seem like a negative). After a few runs in them, though I started getting pain in the front of my ankle of my right foot (where my legs meets my foot). This pain lasted for several weeks after I stopped running, and once I started running again I got the same pain in my left foot as well. I'm not saying that everyone will have this issue, but it seems like it's caused by these shoes because I never had this issues with any other shoe. Furthermore the right shoe has developed a noticeable creaking sound on every stride (seemingly from the support structure on the inner arch). The firm feel that I got from the shoe at first seemed like it might not be a problem, but after putting in about 50 miles I feel that it's too firm and doesn't really contribute to more energy return or a quicker pace. Overall I don't think the Guide 14 is a good running shoe, but they are comfortable and good looking for a casual walking shoe.

The Guide 14 is different than previous versions. It has an extra lift on the inner heal side of the shoe. This probably helps people who naturally wear their shoes and heals on the inner side. I am the opposite. I wear my outer heal more so this shoe is uncomfortable and awkward to use for me. If you wear your inner heal more, then this shoe will be great for you.
I hope in the future they either go back to the way they were made before or provide this option.

This shoe has not held up to a mere 12 days of Army training. The back cushion has already folded in on itself.

I have been a long-time customer but will no longer purchase these shoes since the shoes are now made in China

It seemed like the soles flattened out very quickly with these and even the insole wore out.

Very firm, unlike previous versions. Not very comfortable. Wish I could send them back.
