I wrote a previous review. Now I need to update that review. I love these shoes. This is my second pair. I wear them every day, and for travel. They are great for everyday use, light hikes, short runs and look great enough to wear to casual dinner. These are my second pair because in the first pair, the tread on the soles wore out so fast I thought it was a fluke. So I bough another pair (second pair not gortex) because I otherwise love these shoes. Now after only a short time, the soles are basically smooth again. If the soles on these shoes would be more durable, they would be the best shoe ever made. Also, not so waterproof.

These shoes look great and are awesome for hiking but a bit warm in the summer and leak if I wear them in rain or walking in wet grass for over an hour. I am drying them, my socks and insoles as I type this review. Maybe something wrong with my specific pair.

I have 2 pair of the previous design, which wear a heck of a lot better than this design. So upset Salomon decided to change such a fantastic shoe! Please bring back the old outer material in the next rendition, or better yet, just bring back the entire thing - why change a perfect thing?

Comfy and good looking shoe but my heels were slipping out. I don't think the laces go up far enough to keep the shoe on enough

I was excited to get a shoe that is Gore Tex, more sneaker looking, rather than heavier hiking look, as I intended to use it mostly in urban setting, mostly when raining. I owned the shoe for about 2 weeks now, and unfortunately, the waterproofness is not there what I expected from Gore Tex. In 2 rain events, both minor, walking on pavement in the city, top of the shoes leaked and soaked my feet. I wasn't expecting that I will be able to step into deep puddles with these, but I did expect to be able to walk short distances on paved ground when raining without any issues. I am giving it 2 stars, as they do look good, but waterprofness and on a smaller scale issues keeping the heel down no matter how you laced them (as one other review points out), beat the purpose of owning these

Bought these a few months ago and they started more and more wet inside as time goes on. I can't even walk on a lawn wet from morning dew without my socks being wet!
