These have held up well with my son who destroys shoes. I wish Merrell would switch out the plastic Velcro strap loop for something durable. We have broken the loop on three pairs of the kids shoes. I've found a $.25 replacement D ring from the hardware store fixes the issue.

Comfortable light weight, but I wish I would have sized down a touch ...I am an adult with very small feet and usually sizing is pretty accurate but I found these to be a little on the big side

My daughter loved these shoes, especially that they glow in the dark. We bought than at the start of the school year and we just had to replace them as the sole is coming detached at the toes. I wish they could have made it the whole school year, but 8 months of daily wear for a very active 6 year old is more than we get out of any other sneakers. They are comfy, light weight, and hold up well. We just bought a new pair in a different color a half size bigger for summer.

Not as sturdy as I have expected after yrs of merrells

I bought these because the kiddos like rainbow colored things. These did not disappoint. My son would like a pair for himself as well.

Bought these for my little guy. Comfortable and light. Even bought a larger pair since he'll grow out of these in no time. Love the ease of the strap while still having support of laces. Only issue is that after 5 months, they are pretty worn and a bit slick on the tread. He's a little guy, so I was surprised to see the wear.

Exceedingly comfortable, but the colors are not as bright as pictured.

Even the wide was too narrow. They bruised my son's feet.

They are comfortable but they make my feet sweat badly.

My daughter has worn these shoes in wide width only one time this far. They are lightweight and seem like they are constructed well but those elastic straps are very tight and make deep prints on top of her feet( the shoe itself fits).Wide size isn't really for wide feet because of the tight straps. Other Merrell hiking shoes we own in wide sizes have the same issue. I'm trying to stretch those straps by putting wet washcloths in them before letting my daughter to wear them but I have popped the straps twice already on other pairs. Please adjust those straps for wide sizes so kids who need this size option can actually wear and enjoy them. They are durable shoes but this strap issue needs to be addressed. Thank you.

I am a small woman. I usually wear a size 6. I ordered big kids sandals in sizes 3,4,&5 to see if they would work for me. The size 3W fit, so I think I wear a size 3W in big kids. I ordered these in a size 3W and they are too small. So now I'm faced with ordering a 4, then a 5, or ordering 4&5 and sending one back. The footprint necessary makes me crazy. I just wish sizes were consistent.

These shoes didn't hold up quite as well as other shoes we have purchased for our kids. My son did really like the design and said they were comfortable. The rubber and the fabric separated near the toe after a few months of wear even though he alternates his tennis shoes.

My boys wear Merrells as their daily shoe because we hike so often. They love how comfortable this style is, but unfortunately they've broken down really fast. The tips have pretty much shredded away after a few months. I'd highly recommend the Altalights over the Nova 2s any day.

Comfortable and nice looking. But my kiddo wore them right out in two months.

Love the glow-in-the-dark. They glow for hours into the night! Love the aurora colors and glow in the dark star concept. Only bad part is the left and right shoes don't match. The right shoe has white painted dots which are on the glow in the dark substrate. The left shoe has the clear dot matrix which glows but no white paint overlay. It's like the shoes were made on different assembly lines from different fabric batches. I can't believe these made it past a QC person without someone stopping them to simply "match" them with a more similar mate. They each look fine on their own, but not when worn side by side, which is how shoes are worn still love the glow in the dark concept!

These shoes look much nicer online. In person they are a faded version of these. They just look cheap. This is my first pair though I've been unhappy with. I know they're comfortable. I own 5 other pairs in various colors..... however these are a big let down... I don't have the time or energy to send these back..... I'll wear them, but they're ugly.

I purchased the rainbow version of the Nova 2 for my 7-year-old. She loves them and wears them most days. Unfortunately after less than 2 months, the rubber toe kick has separated from the front of both shoes. I'm sad that they haven't held up better.

Nice shoe. I do a LOT of walking and the sole could have more cushion. I purchased inserts to compensate for the lack of cushion, but they make the shoe too tight. I will order a half size larger next time and use my inserts. With more cushion in sole, these will be a 5. Lack of cushion in the only drawback. They are well made and I like that there are no shoe laces - easy on and easy off.

My kid wore these for 2 months and while they still fit, he can't wear them anymore because he has worn through the sole. Disappointed in the durability for the price. My kid does love the fit and feel of these shoes - they are super lightweight. Will not buy again.

I purchased 2 pairs of these shoes for school in July. They were not allowed to wear them until first day of school. They have been wearing them most school days that they were not wearing sandals. Both my boys really liked the comfort and function of these shoes. However the pictures were taken end of Oct, so 2 months of full day wear, aprox 40ish days, the toe on 1 is starting to come unstitched, the fabric is fraying all over the place from the top of the shoes, to and especially around the foot hole. 3 of 4 shoes has some minor separation of the rubber toe as well as some minor separation of the sole on 1 of the pairs of shoes. The toe box, black protection, is disformed due to moisture and looks poorly. Just overall look and feel of these after 2 months is just disappointing for the cost. I have had other brands make it most of the school year, snow, rain, heat, before looking this bad, these didnt make it to snow season.

I bought this for my daughter a little over 2 months ago and they are already falling apart, separated between the sole and upper. Expected more from Merrell

I've bought a few pairs of these as I like the lighter style, and my kids find them easier to put on than the Moab or trail chasers. However, they barely last the 4-6 months my kids are in a given size! In fact, I'm writing this because I'm having to buy something new for my older son who has destroyed the treads and the elastic laces after less than 6 months of use. He hasn't outgrown them - they're just totally worn out. I'll go back to the Moab style, but I would not buy this style again - just bummed bc I bought several pairs with a sale because my kids loved the patterns. We'll wear them out and buy something else I guess.

I wanted to love these shoes. I bought a pair for 2 of my high energy children. One shoe fell apart in less than a month and was unwearable. The other child got a bit more use out of them, but his were falling apart in less than 3 months. I expected much more from Merrell. I've worn their shoes before and was impressed by the quality, but these just didn't last.
