Legs were a little short and i didnt expect that when i chose the short option (i thought it was talking about the inseam) but they are great. I wore a 32 in levi jeans and the waist on these are big. But ive worn them with my chacos and they look really good!

I typically wear a 34 x30 in most pants so I that size. The 30 length is a little on the short side but will work when wearing hiking shoes. The waist however was a bit loose, however I can always wear a belt. I love the material and the slimmer leg. This will definitely be my summer go to pant when not wearing on the trail!

Just took over as my favorite pants over Men's Outdoor Elements Stretch Pants. I have every color for both pants and while I really like the fit for both, these pants fit even better and are very comfortable. I like how the length is right at the ankles on this one and I think it's the main difference between the two. These pants and the Outdoor Elements Stretch Pants will be my every pants.

First time buying hiking pants and the material is fresh and has excellent stretch. I appreciate there being a shorter inseam for shorter people like myself but I did not appreciate how large the waist is. These are easily 1 to 2 sizes larger than what's listed. The waist has good stretch as well so I suggest choosing the next smallest size.

Quality material as always w/ Columbia products but not the Tech Trail Hiker design w/ nice flex waist band on the back & leg zipper opening. Difference between Hiker & Hiker Pants.

I bought these late last year, as I have two pairs of the previous iteration, and those are my favorite pants that I wear all the time for hiking, backpacking, and casually.
There are a few noticeable changes to these pants which another reviewer has already addressed. I actually don't mind the material, and the black pants definitely pass as casual and I think they're more than appropriate for a casual day at the office.
The only drawbacks for me are that I have the 36R in the older versions and those fit great (I'm normally a 34 in most pants). These 36's fit a little looser, which I don't mind, but the sizing is definitely different. That's definitely not Columbia's fault, as I could have easily exchanged them but was just too lazy to do so. They bunch up a little bit as I have to tighten my belt around the extra material, but it's not a big deal for me. They're removed the button at the waist and replaced it with a snap button/enclosure, which I think is a little sturdier as my old pants were wearing down the opening where I had to push the button through.
I think these pants would be absolutely perfect if they included zippered hand pockets as the pockets are a little slick feeling and my phone has slid out a few times when I'm sitting down. I think bringing back the zippers at the heels or maybe doing drawstrings to accommodate boots and even help with venting or to allow one to roll the pants up for any water crossings or hot weather would be a nice option. Overall, I'd recommend these pants. As I stated, the black pants look sharp and can definitely be worn for a variety of uses.

The pants fit comfortably and true to size. I like that there is enough taper to keep the design clean, but with plenty of room to move around. The fabric is a bit thinner than I expected, but it will work fine for hiking in most conditions. One thing that might have made these pants perfect is an elastic draw cord at the hem of the pants.

The previous design of these pants was so great, that I decided to buy these, hoping they would be the same. And boy did things take a turn for the negative.
While the materials are light yet strong, and comfortable to wear for everyday inside or out adventuring in the wild. Columbia apparently decided to strip them of all the great things they had going for them. No gusseted crotch, no zippered heel to expand pants if you want he pants to go over the boot, laughable elastic waist, the "articulated" panel on the knees is uncomfortable, and the small fit. None of it makes sense, the pants are not quite sweatpants but they also aren't hiking pants, this time they definitely don't look like casual pants. The previous design, looked and felt like you could go take a morning jog, go to work, then go hiking and then meet friends at for dinner, all with the same pants and not look out of place at all. What happened? You had an incredible set of pants, and then took all that away to give way to this sorry excuse of a trouser. Did you not see the great reviews from the previous iteration?
Columbia can make seriously great clothing, this is not their best effort.
