I've been hiking and backpacking for quite a while and have the packs to show for it. For me, the Coulee is the most comfortable and durable day pack I've ever owned. I've only had mine for about a year but I've beat it up since day one and have never felt the need to be gentle with the zippers or material. It's the difference between the 330D of the Coulee and the roughly 100D of something like the Osprey Talon. Big difference. It does pick up stains easier but whatever. Makes it look better. Best feature of this pack for me, other than really being able to dial in the fit, is the hip belt. It's really ample. Like what I'd see on much bigger packs. In the winter when I'm carrying more gear it rides so well. And when I'm not carrying much it's really easy to remove and is still super comfortable. Really opens up it's usage. You can stow sticks, an axe A downside, which might not be for others, is the three zip opening. I think front or side panel access is more suitable for a backpack than a 25L daypack. I don't use it much but what it does is eliminate a large front stretch pocket. The two smaller pockets are too small to carry clothing and not secure enough where I'd trust putting much. I don't think the trade off is worth it. But overall, if you're looking for real bomber of a pack that carries crazy well, this is one to look at. It's pricey but a "buy once - cry once" thing. And not sure if MR reads this but if so. Come on guys. Drop a key fob in there, huh? You can use a biner in the main compartment but it seems like a pretty basic feature for a pack of this quality.

I love this backpack. Very adjustable and the hip belt is removable when you don't need it. The zipper configuration makes access to everything easy. Seems durable. I hope it lasts forever.

I consider myself an avid outdoorsman and not only till about 4 months ago did I discover this brand. I have been blown away with the quality and extreme attention to detail. Very nice to carry and use as both and everyday bag and as a hiking / day bag. Love all the tabs to pull as you close, nice touch. I loved it so much I bought one for a buddy of mine. Can't recommend enough.

I bought this daypack for international travel. I love that the waist belt comes off and minimizes the bulk while flying, and the size is perfect for daily explorations. It is very well built.

I love how this thing carries. I used it on an 8 mile hike and loved the 4 exterior pockets that I used for water bottles for my wife and kids. Great features and comfortable carry.

I bought the Coulee 25 as a day pack and my first extended use was a trip to Utah to hike all 5 National Parks. It performed flawlessly and was comfortable even when fully packed. I hiked over 60 miles in 6 days of hiking and would highly recommend this backpack.

We bought this pack a few years ago to go on our first family hiking trip post kids. I didn't think much of the big open pockets, but for family outings they are amazing: having quick access to wipes, water bottles, sunscreen is so convenient. As the kids get older, having them be able to fetch and restash their own water bottles without my having to take off the pack is great. The adjustability is great. My wife and I have similar torso lengths, it's a no-op to swap for things like beach trips, and about ten minutes to dial in for actual hiking. The attachment points are so flexible - rolled up jackets, beach towels. So yeah: not as cool as hunting/LEAF/alpine climbing, but for the family mission there's no better pack.

I got this backpack about a month ago. It's perfect for light day hikes in the Rockies. The fit is perfect for a taller broad shouldered guy. The adjustments are amazing!

I bought this to replace a smaller hydration pack as my daypack / summit pack. It's probably 5L bigger than I wanted, but with a child on the way, I'm sure I'll appreciate those 5 litres later on. I love that the hip belt can be removed, which makes it seem much smaller and more like a hydration pack. If I'm going on a long hike and/or if I need to pack layers as well as water for myself or others, I really appreciate the hip belt. In short, it makes a great high speed low drag bag for me, but really shines in its ability to convert me into the burden bearing beast my family desires.

Perfect pack for short excursions, weekend trips, summit pushes, etc. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the Y-shaped zipper opening, but it's brilliant and helps avoid the dreaded pack rummage to access something on the bottom. Fit is exactly as expected from MR, with excellent adjustability and good weight distribution.

Pack has great harness as do all MR bags. Access is good with extra pockets on the outside but very few zippered pockets throughout. Good for day hikes not edc.

I pocked-up the Coulee 25 to fill a missing niche in my pack quiver- between the 32L Scree, and 19L Gallagator. This is the perfect size for day hikes and everyday carry. I love the handy exterior pockets and adjustable Futura harness system. The harness system is a bit over-kill for a pack this size, but it does allow you to carry more (if needed) than most any back pack in this capacity. My biggest complaint is the lack of organization pockets on the inside. Extra pockets on the outside is great, but items can bounce out of those in rough terrain, or load-in/out. I would like to see interior drop-in pockets like the Scree or the 2-Day Assault pack. Otherwise tough to beat for a pack in this size.

The length of the bag says 22 inches in thier specs section. It's actually 17 inches. So if you're buying this bag for specific tools or items that you'll be caring be forewarned. This one is going back. The quality of the bag seems nice. But its much smaller than listed

Bought it last month took it on first hike. It fit well just wished had more internal pockets and the zippers get hung up. Little small in the main body barely holds two T-shirt and a rain jacket plus food. Just need a little more time with it. For what you pay needs little more work
