Fit is good but not great
I taken them on a few 5 and 10 mile hikes and the sole can be a bit sketchy when switching terrain between packed dirt and damp stone surfaces

Love the shoe! First time a Merrell has been too narrow. Had to return. Too bad, love the design.

I really love the look of the shoes and they have a great grip for hiking. Unfortunately they are just too narrow. Sad to say, I had to return them

I love Merrell shoes. I had never wore them at work tho. I bought these hoping i could tolerate standing 9 hours plus with minimal foot pain, unfortunately it wasnt the case. I wear them at home and on walks now. Being an OR nurse you have to have comfort all day...

I love the comfort of the shoes , however the insole in one will not stay in place and slides up the back. I can't find a way to Make it stay in place. It started from the first time I wore them.

Shoes are comfortable but dont look as nice as pictured on the website. When i got them they appeared dull as no where close to picture on website. Shoes are great but dont look as advertised.

I’m already shopping for a replacement pair.
Laces were terrible. Overall construction was mediocre.

They're very comfortable, and seem to be well made, but I don't know that I've owned a shoe that lets more water in. And I'm not talking about walking through streams. Merely walking through grass with morning dew will leave your socks soaked. A huge miss on Merrell's part.

Bought these for a trail run up to Titcomb Basin in the Wind River range. Wore them around the house for 2 days to break them in and then on the trail run.
I noticed before another run today that the Vibram tread is pulling off both shoes in a large chunks. Pics show each shoe's tread just under the middle of my arch.

Original rainbow mountain is much more durable. This new version is made of material that scratches much more easily.

Comfortable, but already wearing down on the top of the shoe (on both sides), near the tongue. Only been 4 mos.

Like the look of the shoe. However, I have previously worn Merrill's and I don't know if it is a design/structure issue or a materials issue but I don't feel the same support in the sole of the shoe. Very disappointed.

First let me start with this, the most comfortable out of the box shoe I have ever purchased. The problem is after 4 months the outer shoe box on the right side came apart and split. There should be some kind of reinforcement on the flex area. Not a happy camper.

They wore out in 3 months. The soles are ripped up from hiking a couple times a week.

Like me, If you loved last years Nova because they were the most comfortable light running shoe I have ever owned, this years model is not the same. I am bummed they are cool. I do get a lot of comments reguarding the color but I am not thrilled with the construction materials used. They are not as comfortable and heavier than last years model. Fit is slightly bigger as well.

Love these shoes except for one recurring theme after 4 pairs of shoes. You can tell I like them since I keep coming back, but dang, they just don't wear well. Definitely not durable at all. All 4 pairs that I have had have worn holes on hte side where my pinky toe resides... without fail, after about 4 months of wear. Think I'll move on to another shoe now, even though I love the colors and fit, they just don't last and I'm done. I used to recommend this shoe to everyone, until the 3rd pair got holey. I had already bought the 4th pair for a backup, so here I am again... with another pair of holey shoes.

an excellent overall outdoor/trail shoe with excellent grip and overall excellent fit. I'm SUPER disappointed that after only 2+ months of wear, each shoe has 1-3 holes in the toe mesh.

This is my second pair in 1 month. The first one had an issue with the in-sole slipping (leaving the front part of my fingers hanging/without support). I thought it to be a manufacturing glitch. I returned the pair and ordered another one but found that this issue is pervasive for all Nova 2s. Great shoe but this issue is really bothersome. I will be returning to the store for a solution. Hope Merrell fixes this soon...

These are some awesome shoes. Soft, flexible and extremely light to wear. Unfortunately, I returned my pair. They caused me leg pain in my right leg. Wished they fit better because they were fabulously comfortable otherwise.

Comfortable but poor quality. The tread on these shoes started peeling off after ten days in the desert.

Attractive shoe. Photos are deceiving. I thought the blue lines on the sides were part of the structural support of the shoe, but it's just decorative. Great tread on bottoms for hiking. Comfortable at first, but midsole is already breaking down after a few weeks of casual wear, which is causing improper foot alignment & foot/ankle pain. Overall I'm disappointed in the quality of this shoe for the price point.

I have worn Merrell shoes and boots for many years and generally love them, but I have to lodge my first complaint about my Nova 2 Rainbows. In both shoes, the insoles end up pushed way to the back of the shoe after every hike, so much so that a noticeable 1/2 inch gap toward the toe box is the end result (that I then havetofiddle with and readjust). I have two pairs of the original Nova Rainbows that are great, and purchased this pair for the rock plate. But what gives with the odd backward sliding insoles?! Also, my heels slide out a bit, suggesting that the back part of the shoe is too wide.

Insole keep coming out of shoe and sliding while wearing them. Also the fabric split open on the side near the ball of my feet.
