I wanted to like this because I love my two other (black and red) pairs of "very original" Teva sandals that I have had for over ten years which have a cork sole and leather footbed. The EVA footbed in this sandal had a rough texture that felt like a cheap flip-flop. The nylon straps were stiff. I liked the earlier version where the straps divided off the triangular piece near the toe and attached to the sole at two different points; and the straps were leather. I knew this would not be the same, but I really wanted a white Teva sandal, so I thought I'd give it a try. I will be returning them. Are you listening TEVA? I will be first in line if you make a white leather sandal with a flat cork sole.

I have a pair of Teva sandals I've been wearing for nearly 20 years. They are extremely comfortable. I wanted a pair of similar sandals in black so I ordered these. The insole has a raised pattern on it and it hurts my feet to even walk a few feet in them. My old sandals have a smooth insole.
Disappointed,

my 16 year old tevas were built super heavy duty. the new ones have a lot thinner sole, narrower straps, and light weight ,cheezy hardware.

Not even close to "Originals". Heel strap does not adjust-fits poorly now. The sole is a cheap "shower sandal" material, that is way too soft, has little or no arch support, and in no way, is made for any sport activity. Straps are of similiar inferior material.
The true "Originals" were a fantastic product. Why didn't TEVA continue to make it, and THEN expand the product line. Cut so many corners on this product, that is truely NOT worth buying or wearing, even if free. It's that bad. Go back to way the orginal founder made them. I still have mine from the 90s. Rigid, hard, tough sole with quality straps that are all adjustable. Fit and wear=fantastic.

Need to replace my Tevas that I have worn everywhere over the years. Land and Sea. However, I do not like the foam type sole they now sport. I prefer the more stable and supportive lug sole of Tevas past. I sadly will need to look at Chacos, but they are not light weight like my Tevas.

Orginal 1988.. Sole is rigid and strong enough to protect if walking on sharp rocks.
Also, soles were molded with some arch support and great bed for foot. I put them up for a few years and got them back out. As good as before.
The new ones are NOT REMOTELY close in quality. The sole looks and feels like a cheap shower sandal with little arch or bedding. The old ones had some weight and substance to them for outdoor sports. The new ones are junk. PERIOD!
Dont be fooled in thinking your getting the "original" riverguide quality. You're not.
Greatly disappointed.

a good alternative to flat shoes, however the Insole was so rough that I found it painful to walk.

Pattern looks faded and not in a good way. Poorly made compared to the Tevas I have worn over the past 20 years. Had to return the first pair as they weren't even sewn together. Second pair is uncomfortable, all I wear is Tevas, so it's not the brand, it's this style. Fine to wear to the festival, not for desert work.

I was shocked to compare this TEVA with one I purchased two years ago. I have to believe that I have picked the wrong item because the comparison between the TEVA on my feet right now and the ones that are in the box I am returning are monumental. CHEAP Poor quality lightweight pieces of poorly formed rubber.

The originals are not a true originals. I had a pair 20 years ago. Wore them everywhere, biking, my climbing, rafting, jogging.
The new version of originals have a very weak sole, toes bend under foot when walking in water

I ordered two pairs of shoes; the Jhene Aiko flatforms and the Women's Original in Mash-up Teal. I ordered both in a size 11 (I wear size 11.5), as it's the largest they make, and you're advised to order down anyways, when looking for a half size. Both fit small. The Jhene Aiko's heel strap was way too small and barely came up over my heel, let alone to my ankle. I contacted a worker to ask about special sizing- and they don't do any special orders to accommodate people with bigger feet- unless you're buying their flip flops, which come in larger sizes. In addition, if I were to order in men's sizes to rectify that, they don't make the sandals for men and women in the same colors.
I'm totally willing to pay extra for this to work! I'm super disappointed, and in addition, I can't find any other places that sell flatform-like sandals like Teva. I'd love suggestions on what to do besides starting all over trying to find sandals I love.

These are the most uncomfortable sandals I have ever tried on. The metal connector by the big toe should be on the other side of the shoe to make it more comfortable.

I got this shoe to replace a very old pair of what I would consider "classic" Tevas. This is basically a Teva upper on a (very padded) flip-flop sole. It fits, and I'm sure I can run to the grocery store in it, but I certainly wouldn't use it as a hiking/river shoe. I am returning these.

I got these to go in and out of the water at the lake. The straps stretch out when they get wet. I have to keep adjusting the them as they dry or get wet. Plus after a few times at the lake the straps have gotten very stiff. Definitely not normal Teva quality

Had to return them. Compared to my old TEVA's they have less cushioning. They are very thin under the foot.

The new Teva original leather sandal is not like the original Teva sandals at all. I returned them because they were not at all comfortable and did not have an arch like the original ones I used to buy.

I have worn this particular style Teva for MANY years. I was unable to find them in any retail store, so I turned to the internet. I ordered them thinking they were the ones I had always worn. Well, they aren't. The look is the same, but the feel is totally different. Very uncomfortable! I was even going to order a second pair just so I would always have them. I wore them in the winter with socks I loved them so much! But, I won't be ordering anymore...in fact I won't be wearing these as much either. Very disappointed!!

I left at the end of December to travel around the world for a year and really needed to invest in great universal sandals, so of course I choose Tevas. I bought two different pairs to match each occasion. However both of them did not live up to my expectations. Within 2 months they broke, the strap came out from the sole of the shoe and now I have nothing to wear. Do not buy these if you are hoping for a long term sandal. I would expect for the price it would match the value.

I do not like the way this sandal fits. If I had worn them before I decided to keep them, I would have sent them back. I thought they would fit like the pair I purchased 4 years ago. The front strap is sits in the middle of my foot and digs into the top of my foot. They are hard to walk in because the front strap is in the middle of my foot leaving 1/2 my foot in front of the strap so it catches on the ground unless I "march" with my feet 15-24 inches off the ground to take a step. I bought these to walk in town and on the beach, but now realize they are one of "those" shoes meant to be looked at and not worn. The ankle strap is so low, it is hard to keep the shoe on my heel. I am pretty disappointed in this shoe! I wish I would have sent them back. I loved my flipflops I bought and should have returned this horrible pair of shoes and purchased 2 pairs of cute flipflops!! These are THE WORST shoe I have ever purchased and will probably never buy TEVA again because of the low quality and poor design of this shoe. I have worn original TEVA's for years and did not realize the fit had been changed. This shoe USED to be designed so the front strap went over your toes, not in the middle of your foot!

Bought the Original thinking it would work as a hiking and kayaking shoe. Foam sole, while very lightweight is not any good for serious adventure. Think of these as an expensive pair of flip-flops.
