Great Birkenstocks, but someone was wearing them before me. The soles are dirty!

I was excited to see a Birkenstock sneaker but disappointed when they arrived. The footbed wasn’t what I expected. I couldn’t feel a toe bar and they just didn’t seem to cradle my foot like my Gizeh, Arizonas, and Bostons do. These seemed to me like Birk just slipped their insole product in a Birk-shaped lace up, rather than having a fully integrated sole. The support and the “movement” of the shoe when walking just wasn’t the same. I also found 38 (my usual size) to be too short, but 39 to be too big.

I have the black pair of this shoe and love them. Was worried that the white would look like old-school nurse shoes...and the do (no offense to the nurses). Fit perfectly but not as stylish as the black.

Very supportive shoes. However, they were very hot even in the autumn weather.

Ordered the Birkenstock Bend in white in a size 37 narrow as I have several pairs of Birk sandals in this size. unfortunately, they were too short in length and I returned them for a size 38 narrow. I do have a very low instep and rather skinny feet and the 38 narrow was huge and my foot slid all around in the shoe. Beautiful shoe, but if you have thin narrow feet and heels this might not be the sneaker for you.

I really wanted to like these shoes and I needed them; however, I sent them back for 2 reasons. First of all, it felt too large in the toe area. Secondly, they didn't look as good on my feet as I had hoped for. I still LOVE Zappos and will try again!

So stiff! Break in period would have been difficult.

Besides the size, I was very surprised that the soles felt like bricks...... especially for the most expensive sneakers I have ever ordered.

The fit was too narrow and the leather was very firm and uncomfortable.

These shoes arrived with scuffs along the edges of the soles. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be there, but I suspect not. They do not appear used, so I think it might be a manufacturing defect. Regardless, I am disappointed and they are going back.

I have been wearing Birkenstock sandals for years & love them and was looking forward to having a simple pair of leather sneakers that would be comfortable. Unfortunately for me, the comfort that I find in the sandals does NOT translate to these shoes. By the end of the day my legs hurt and my back is starting to hurt. I'm surmising its less arch support/cushion and overall they are just not comfortable for me. I wanted to love these, but unfortunately these are going to Goodwill since it's well past the time to return them on the Birkenstock site.

Too short. Toes hit the front end. Too wide across front of foot. I ordered an 11 narrow fit because that's my size. This didn't fit in any direction! That said, Birkenstock quality is excellent. I own several Birkenstock sandals in size 11 narrow fit which are comfortable.

I couldn't get past the SMELL of the shoe to even try on. There were scuffs as well when looking at them. The shoe seemed cute and sadly probably would have worked for me. It did have a removal liner which was nice. Disappointing

I ordered a size 42. I’m a 42.5 and these were small for me. I’ve learned that most shoes don’t stretch with time so I wasn’t going to take a chance with them. The in soles also felt funny. I know there’s supposed to be arch support but I felt pressure at the front of my feet.

I was hopeful for these since I live Birkenstock sandals. However they were hard and stiff. Definitely not cozy Luke the sandals are.

Too thick. Not a good look of you were planning in wearing this with a summer dress or shirt pants. Bulky looking.

Nothing was actually wrong with the shoes...except that they didn't look all that great on my feet. Sometimes, it is just like that. So, I am returning. BIG thumbs up to Zappos! for such a generous return policy.

The positive: Great arch support. Would not need an orthopedic insert. The less positive: A bit large in both width and length. Not that comfortable. The worst: Not a cute shoe. I wear an 11 and ordered in white. Looked a bit like what fred flinstone would wear if he wore white tennis shoes.

I bought these as I typically only wear the Arizona style. I live in northeast so in winter months it’s Arizona’s with socks. I have a lot of foot issues( plantar Fasciitis and Morton’s neuroma) I was hoping this style would provide the same relief. Although cute and I can wear longer than regular shoes….these to me are a pass if your looking for relief.

Hubby wears 12.5 to 13 normally, so these, advertised at 13-13.5 (46), should have been roomy. His toes were jammed up front. So many sport shoes have "symmetrical" curve at toes, jamming toes together like women's shoes do, so this design, with natural foot shape, seemed promising. Sadly B'stock doesn't make a larger size than 46.

I love these shoes, in fact this is my second pair. I wore the first pair for a whole year before the cork on the sole wore out and the bottom fell off. I thought this was just a fluke but after only a month these new ones had the same problem. The cork started coming out again. Zappos was wonderful and let me return them for a full refund but I am very disappointed in Birkenstock. I have so many of their shoes and typically love them but these are a disappointment. Especially because they are so comfy.

I would not buy these again. I have two pairs, a black pair and a white pair. They have both fallen apart within two seasons of wear. The black pair has the sole separating from the shoe—where to cork part is at the back of the shoe it’s completely come apart. The white pair looks terrible. The color started coming off (this happens with white leather so not too big a deal, but it happened after one season), and the rubber sole is separating from the sides of the shoe. I also just noticed that a piece of the rubber sole, about the size of a quarter, has fallen out of the rubber sole. I’ve never actually seen that in a shoe. I’ve been wearing Birkenstock sandals for 30 years and they usually last for years—I take them to a cobbler for repair and they just keep going. These sneakers are the worst quality I’ve ever had the displeasure of owning.

Euro42 is not always the same as US 11

Unfortunately I am going to return these. I live in my birks and these gave me blisters wearing them once. It may be the stiffer fabric.
