These are the best shoes out there, hands down, for plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. No comparison !!! Thank you for designing and engineering shoes for patients like me. Your shoes are a life-saver. They changed my life. Jim

I have a half dozen Gaviotas, so ordered the new model 3 as soon as I heard they were coming. The Gaviota 3 is as comfortable as it's predecessors. I tried them today on my daily walk and the stability and cushioning are great.

Like other Hoka running shoes the Gaviota 3 provides extreme cushioning and support. The fairly straight outer last is perfect for those with pronation issues like myself. For heel strikers the extra midsole material extending out from the heel seems to attenuate the shock of your foot hitting the ground with each step. These are also quite lightweight as well. I've only run in them once for about half an hour but am pleased so far. These shoes are an investment and worth the price.

Poor SupportGreat Support
This is a very comfortable shoe with lots of cushioning and enough support that I can (and have) walked several miles at a time without any foot issues at all. The only problem is walking down stairs. The heel sticks out a little and that can catch on the stairs. I almost fell when it happened the first time. Fortunately, I was holding onto the railing and have done so ever since. But it was unnerving and I went back to my old Hoka Arahi shoes, which don't have the protrusion in the heel. However, beware, the Arahi 5 and definitely, the Arahi 6. The both have heels that stick out. The sales person said it was for stability when walking. That's not a trade off I can make. Hoka...please return to your old design...it was perfect!

I actually experienced these to be more comfortable than they are for the price of them

The cushion and stability are fantastic! The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because it seems to run smaller than the other HOKAs I own (Arachi 6, for instance).

I find the fit great but object to the short life of the product. Where can I recycle them?

The HOKA brand was recommended to me by numerous Orthopedic physicians. I can whole-heartedly confirm that the recommendations were excellent. Knowing I needed a stabilizing shoe, the Gaviota worked out perfectly.

Very comfortable walking shoes, maybe slightly narrow? Not sure because were unable to try a wider shoe.

I have been using this for distance walking and jogging. Nice stiff shoe with plenty of cushion. I always take an 11.5, but depending on the upper material, sometimes they run a little tighter. This is a little tight around the toes as compared with the Hupana or Clifton.

Love the shoe. For as much you pay . You would think the removable foot bed would be better. More arch and padding. Other Than that a great shoe.

Great sturdy shoe so far. They seem to help with my iver pronation. My knees and lower back do not.huet near as much after wearing these for a while now too. Maybe they can start making boots. Id do a wear test for them. I for sure am rough on shoes and boots. The only down side so far is the cost of HOKA. I have to catch them on sale to afford them.

HOKA has been my 'go-to-shoe" for more than 5 years. I have wide feet. I wear 10 1/2 wide women's shoes. I usually purchase men's 9 to accommodate the width in running shoes. But that formula didn't work with the Gaviota 3. I wanted to see if Gaviota 3 gave more stability than the Stinson 5 ATR. I will have to try again with a wider size for the Gaviota 3. For now, I resorted back to my Stinson 6 ATR, men's size 9.5. Perfect fit! The 6 ATR has some nice slight changes from the 5 ATR. Just what I will need for hiking the foothill of the Alps in Austria this fall! Thank you HOKA !! Easy return for my online purchase.

The rubber on the toe is coming unglued. I would recommend but I'd tell people to get some Gorilla Glue.

I have pretty much worn my HOKAs exclusively since they arrived in the mail. I work in them, do my neighborhood errands in them, practically everything I do, because nothing else is as comfortable as these!

Front and rear cushion is great: middle of foot cushion seems to give way --- for sloppy cushioning

I am a fan of the bondi series. This shoes doesn't have as much cushion and arch support as bondi.

This Shoe looks great and feels good on the bottom of my feet. Unfortunately even though I bought a wide size, they are narrow and tight around my toes. I really really hate that I don't love them. Maybe the next pair I will have to get extra wide, which I have never needed before.
